My Honey Cooks

Brittany, on November 5, 2018 at 8:00 AM Posted in Honeymoon 2 26

Hi there,

I went to a bridal expo yesterday in Baltimore, MD and enrolled into a raffle with the company " My honey cooks " I got a text last nice from a lady who seemed very nice saying I wont a all inclusive vacation and a Knife of theirs. She said I had to attend their cooking show and then I can redeem my vacation and receive the Knife. Is this legit? The cooking show is 3 hours long and I don't want to waste my time and stay out really late if this isn't legit. Any Information would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I've heard of this before. They basically try to sell you things and show you how to use them. I don't think you have to buy anything, but I'm not totally sure.

I'm sure curious as to if its difficult to redeem the vacation they give you I know for a lot of these I've read it isn't easy at all. I would rather not get the offer then have to jump through hoops to get it. & if its really worth it

I think it's if you buy something you get the vacation. If you don't plan on buying anything I wouldn't do it. My sister did this, and she bought a convection oven and won a cruise for her and get husband. I sat through one with a friend and they told her she couldn't have the cruise if she didn't but their Tupperware.

There are also a lot of hidden fees for this “free” vacation. Usually everyone “wins” the contests at those bridal shows.

I didn't end up going, I go into work at 6am and it said it started at 8 and could be like 2-3 hours. I figured I would be realllly grumpy if I stayed up that late then they tried to get me to buy something LOL. Let me know how it goes, I was curious if it was the real deal

My fiance and I went won this as well and went to it. It was very informative! They basically discussed what their product was and all it offered. The show was fun, the guy giving the presentation was very involved and kept everyone entertained... there was also FREE FOOD! Lol. They stated in the beginning that you DO NOT have to purchase anything at all and can still redeem the Free Vacation and receive the knife offered. I actually watched some people actually take to trip and knife at the end of the presentation and leave, however, my fiance and I were impressed with what they offered and actually purchased somethings that we viewed as a lifetime investment. However, as far as the trip, you do have to pay for your own airfare and any taxes due to the fact that they are giving you the 4 days 3 nights paid.

So I can vouch that the trip and knife offered by My Honey Cooks is not a scam! Hope this helps!

I actually went to it last night, and it was awesome! Super informative. We actually got both trips, and the knife free without buying anything. However, we were so impressed we invested in the breakfast set for an amazing 40% off. It really was a great deal for a lifetime investment. (P.S. we get 40% off for a lifetime now since we purchased at the show).

I went this past weekend and i did get the knife and free vacation without buying anything. I will say however that i was reading the fine print on the vacation and you will have to sit through a time share pitch while on the trip FYI. In addition, i pulled off the stickers that were strategically placed over what was originally on the box and saw that they are Hammer Stahl products. I went to the website and saw all the knifes (for cheaper than on the my honey cooks site) and they also have cookware that advertised the same 7 layer stainless steel technology. Also the tops looks different it's also manufactured in Tennessee so i assume it's the same spot....

It's not a scam in the sense that you don't actually have to buy anything to get the "prizes." But the price of the pots, pans and cutlery are severely inflated. First, the "$100 free knife" prize currently retails at $30. https://www.heritagesteel.us/shop/cutlery/5-5-santoku-knife.html

If you decided to go to a show go ahead and bookmark that website so you can price compare all the "mark downs" they provide (up to 300% markup with the special bridal expo discount).

They also employ scare tactics, implying that Teflon burn off kills birds, which have small lungs, and therefore could kill your infant child... because you know their lungs are also small. They printed the first page (and only the first page) of an article from the American Cancer Society which talks about Teflon and potentially dangerous byproducts that are produced during the manufacturing of Teflon. They conveniently left out this part of the article: "Other than the possible risk of flu-like symptoms from breathing in fumes from an overheated Teflon-coated pan, there are no known risks to humans from using Teflon-coated cookware. While PFOA is used in making Teflon, it is not present (or is present in extremely small amounts) in Teflon-coated products." https://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancer-causes/teflon-and-perfluorooctanoic-acid-pfoa.html

They have the first page from the American Cancer Society and the second page, which looks like it's part of the same article, from a completely different website which states something different than the quote above.

Overall the product they are selling appears to be of high quality but not worth the price tag they're selling it for.

As for the vacation, I did receive the voucher. The speaker was upfront about stating all travel to and from the resort as well as taxes associated with resort must be paid by the recipient. You also have to send in $50 to activate said voucher. I will not be pursuing the trip as I'm sure there's something hidden in the fine print to make it not worth it.

If you scroll down it also conveniently has the same year, 1874, that our speaker said the manufacturing of the pots and pans started. The lids and handles look different but I agree, I think this is likely the actual manufacturer of the product.

So last night we went to a My honey cook's cooking show and it was funny, informational, and we received all of are promised gifts on the spot. They really do pay for a 4 day 3 night stay and you get a knife. All they ask is you pay the tax. One thing we really like was he even said you dont have to buy anything you just have to sit and here me talk and eat my food.

Have you gotten the things you have purchased? We went in November and did the payment plan but haven't heard anything from them and haven't gotten anything. Thanks.

Does anyone have an update on how well the cookware works as advertised? It appears that you can purchase the 'plain' cookware from the source (https://www.heritagesteel.us/about/our-story.html) at a significant reduction in the price. However, you will be missing out on the patented lids, handles, and the stacking capabilities that My Honey Cookware adds to it.

    Thanks! Smiley smile
