My daughter is getting married. She has told her sister(bridesmaid) that her daughter can’t be a flower girl because she is torn between her fiancés side nieces. What to do?

What you should do is nothing. The decision is between your daughter and her fiancé. We had two flower girls because we had my niece and my husband’s cousin’s daughter. So they can have more than one flower girl or flower child, but again, that is not your choice to make.

If your daughter doesn’t want three flower girls and won’t choose between them then that’s her call and her FI’s.

How old are all the nieces? Typically flower girls are in the 3-7 year old range, approximately, so if FI’s nieces are any older, another option is to call them junior bridesmaids. Again, the decision to have all, none, or one is the couple’s. Flower girls are not essential to a wedding, of course.

You don’t do anything. Let the bride do what her heart desires. Not everyone is close to every relative and some couples want their guests to enjoy themselves without a role. Being a guest is just as much an honor as anything else, even if some people don’t agree.

You can support your one daughter’s decision and reassure your other daughter and granddaughter that’s it’s not a reelection against Granddaughter but just one of many decisions and compromises made when planning a wedding. If we had a bunch of children the right age, I would probably also decide to just not have any flower children to avoid playing favorites.

LOL, that should be “not a reflection”! Isn’t there an edit feature to these posts? 😆
