My Snapping Point

Mandee, on February 1, 2020 at 7:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Dress shopping was as aweful as I thought it would be. I snapped at my Nanny because she kept sending pictures to people and I told her I didn't want her to do that and she kept doing it anyway, I hated every single dress I put on, and Im a size 16 so I look like a whale. I know that Im being too hard on myself because it's beec less than a year since chemo but I hate the way I look and then to have people taking pictures of me was just too much.

Oh no! What a terrible experience! You were already stressed enough. I suggest you go by yourself to a few bridal shops. A good bridal consultant can help you feel more relaxed about the experience. Be gentle with yourself too. Your fiancé thinks you’re beautiful, try to see yourself that way. ❤️

I'm a size 26, so girl, I'd love to be your size.
I guess nanny has lost her priviledge to go dress shopping with you... or you get to collect phones during your next trip. And the only photos allowed are on your phone in airplane mode (so they cant sneak send them to themselves.)
And yes. Your fiance thinks you're beautiful, so be kind to yourself.

Oh honey a size 16 is lovely as is any size. We are all hard on ourselves. There is a lot I hate about my body but you just need to find that dress that makes you feel like a princess. Is your MOH local? I went dress shopping with mine after we had breakfast and it was a fun time. Just go alone or have one person there who will respect the no pictures rule.

I completely understand. I dreaded it so bad. I even lost 40 lbs over the year bf and it was still awful. I wear a size 10-12 but dresses run so small I want to say mine was a 16 but will need to be altered. I’m pretty average size but just hearing the size made me feel even worse. I’m still not 💯 percent happy. But I felt if I had to try in any more I’d just lose every ounce of self confidence I had. I didn’t even want a photographer but was pushed into that too!!!!

First time I was married I had to order a size 30. Thankfully this time size 20. My wedding is in 3 months. A. Tell nanny she doesn’t come again if she doesn’t follow the rules. B. Not every style is for you. C. You will find the perfect dress. D you’ll be beautiful at any size when you marry your love.
