My uncomfortable ring

Megan, on February 5, 2018 at 8:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Does anyone else have an issue with their engagement ring like this?? Obviously I'm aware that at times we retain water and our rings feel differently, but my ring fits perfect at times, others it's spinning like crazy or like today.. it feels like I can't move it at all and it's so uncomfortable and I had to use lotion to get it off. I don't want to resize it, but the fit is so inconsistent I don't know what to do.

The inconsistent fit is probably your body and not the ring. If it is a day to day you could get a removable rubber piece to put inside to help on the days it spins like crazy, but if it's fluctuating this much throughout the day you honestly might want to talk to your doctor.

My body fluctuates with the ring, especially this winter since the weather can't decide whether it's warm or cold. I got my ring sized when it was 90 degrees out, so my fingers were a little swollen. Overall, I don't fear my ring falling off.

I was told it will take time for your body to adjust having the ring on. For the first two months (for me) after getting my ring, there were times it was so tight, it had to get dish soap and remove it for a while. Get yourself a silicone ring and wear it when the ring is uncomfortable or spinning. Your body will eventually relax and fluctuate accordingly.

You eventually start to get used to it. It took me a long time because I just never wear jewelry. One piece of advice if your ring is stuck use Windex it works every time and doesn't gunk up your ring. I used to sell jewelry and you would be surprised how many times people get rings stuck when trying them on.

Yes. When I got my ring I was certain it was too small. Never got it resized because it fit perfectly. Then I lost weight and now it slips off. But some mornings my finger is fat and it's hard to put on. I got some ring spacers/sizers I found on amazon. I actually learned about them from a similar WW thread! I love them. My ring fits snug and doesn't slide around, but when my finger is fat I can take it off and wear my ring normally.

I have this problem, especially when sleeping or working out. Don't wear your ring to bed, get a ring holder for your night stand so it doesn't get knocked off or lost. I also have a separate slightly larger ring to wear when we go hiking, I usually don't wear a ring to the gym.

You can get a ring adjuster on amazon for days when it feels loose.
