My wedding is july 23rd... we haven't heard anything from the venue since dec 18th, and we keep calling, emailing, etc.. and nothing. We get minor replies but our questions around... our wedding... never get answered..

we finally got a reply a week ago... only to find out that they double booked our wedding day and are having a corporate event at the same time in the same location (there are multiple venue options at the place we are getting married)...

We LOVE the venue that we want to get married at... but are stuck on what to do..

we had them save the date on dec 6th.. and everything was confirmed as saved on dec 18th... and then we got ghosted... I have literally been trying to give them deposit money since Dec 6th...

we sent out our save the dates already because they had confirmed that we had the date saved for us... and then they go and ghost us and double book....

we are having our reception at the same location and we cant even plan anything... we are just stuck eternally on hold it feels like.

any ideas on what to do? we still want to get married at the venue.... because it's absolutely beautiful...

I understand you like your venue, but if this situation happened to me, I would not even consider still getting married there. They are clearly unprofessional. If this is how they do business, I can guarantee you this won't be your last issue with them.

I say, if you’re able to visit the venue in person then go and talk it out face to face. They can’t ghost you if you’re there. If they let you sign a contract and give a deposit then great and make sure you get copies take pictures, what ever it takes to have your leverage if they try anything shady again. Personally, I wouldn’t even want to work with this venue anymore after how they’ve been towards you. I would worry what kind of people they are and service they’d provide. I would also suggest you start looking into other venues and make sure you have a contract signed because like the pp’s have said, holding a day isn’t anything. I’m actually surprised they did this most places don’t even bother because they know once someone else comes along for the same date they can’t say it’s taken. They can give a heads up but it isn’t required. So go in person but also start your search back up as back up. You never know, maybe you dodged a bullet with this venue.

If your wedding is July of this year you need a new venue asap.
