Do you have a lot of out of town guests? A Wednesday wedding may be hard for some guests to attend.

Congrats on booking your venue and caterer! If you're planning to DIY the decor, it's great you have your venue a year in advance. Do you have a list of projects you'd like to do? And more importantly, a budget for what you want to do?

Oh man! Hopefully you have a big flower budget or are skipping the real flowers. Inflation is awful during Valentine's and mother's day season

You can look into booking a photographer and DJ next.

Since it is on a weekday I would recommend sending out save the dates earlier than what is considered "traditional". Weekday weddings are often hard to attend so the more notice people have the better. Smiley smile

And for as of what to do next, when I was where you were in planning I took a break!! Its often important to remember that you are engaged rather than to be in your head for planning the wedding. from now on it's all the fun stuff so relax and just have fun with it Smiley smile

Also it's not to early! Agree with pps, photographer and dj would be good to look into next.

As far as flowers I've seen some online places for flowers and they deliver to you so hopefully that will be good for that time of year or maybe just less flowers...also it's gonna be at night around 6 or 7 ish to account for ppl in town that may have to work

You are definitely not moving too fast. I'm getting married a few days after you and I have booked venue, photographer, and DOC. I'm in the process of booking my caterer and am looking into DJ's.

Okay I feel better now. When should I make the registry and send out save the dates? I'm kinda anxious and excited about that part

We are sending save the dates in June since most of our guests are out of town. Since you don't have many OOT guests, I think 6 months out is fine. We are doing registry in April or May so that it will be on our wedding website by the time STD's go out.

I'd send out save the dates around 8 months in advance to give guests enough notice who may have to take off work. I'd start the registry around then too and just make sure to check it periodically to see if any items were discontinued.

Valentine's Day would be a date I probably wouldn't go to someone else's wedding. And certainly not a Wednesday wedding. Did you check with your VIPs first?

Yeah, this is a pretty awful thing to do to your guests. Not only is it a week day (already rough on guests), but you are also asking them to sacrifice their Valentines day on the altar of your wedding? No thanks! Whether or not they will say it to your face, everyone is going to hate this plan.

I'm sorry, but I feel that weddings held on major holidays are one of the rudest things you can do to a guest. And your vendors/staff.

I had a family member get married on a holiday and I was PISSED. Never told her that though.

Well my fiancée and I decided on that day and it works for our guests as well as us...I appreciate the input about it being a terrible date though I do

So.......if you don't want to go, you don't go. I don't know, the vendors and staff are going to work anyway, and we are quite used to working on holidays. I don't think it's awful at all.

It's a manufactured holiday anyway.....like most of them.
