View Quoted Comment Absolutely it was the coolest experience!! Just make sure it gets hot enough and press it down evenly to make sure it’s pressed good. Also idk if your handle is metal, ours was, so just have something handy just in case it’s too hot!

Thank you! We bought a true branding iron on Etsy, and rented a propane fire pit to heat it up with prior. I think we will heat it up for about an hour before just to make sure. Did you test it prior? We still need to buy our wood piece! Good note about the gloves!

View Quoted Comment Of course! We didn’t try it out beforehand we just kinda went with it lol but the owner of the venue we were at is a farmer so he was there for us.
My husband ended up branding pretty much every piece of wood in sight after we did our branding ceremony lol! But we bought our wood slab from Michael’s! They have a few different sizes and we got one that fit our branding iron perfectly! Our handle didn’t get too hot but my hand was on the iron and then my husband had his over mine and holding it there I could feel the heat and it didn’t burn me but it didn’t feel good holding it lol
