MyRegistry.com review?

jenifer, on November 19, 2015 at 12:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

We were not going to have a registry because we have lived together for 5 years and there is nothing that we need. We have a lot of out of town guest coming so we didn't want to ask for money, we just want our guest to show up stress free and to have a good time. But I have been asked a few times to make one by guest that wont be attending that still want to offer a gift. I am looking for something easy that will also allow for house hold items everyone can use more of like sheets and towels. I saw myregisrty.com on WW. Looking for reviews or suggestions.

I used it for my registry and thought it was great. We already had a pretty complete household set up so it was nice being able to register for the few things we wanted from various sites/stores instead of several things we didn't really need from one place. The little toolbar button makes it really convenient, too.

ETA: I also did not use the cash option on the website. I registered at a couple different places, linked the registries, and used the button to add random one-off items from other sites.

Most of our guests gave us cash anyways. It was nice because a lot of those places give you registry completion discounts so you can get the stuff you really wanted at a discount.

I used it for my registry. I didn't use the cash part. I liked it because I had registries at a few stores and it was a way to have them all on one site. FYI cash registry are frown upon on WW. If you really just want reviews on the site and not start all whole cash registry debate I would take that part out.

@Julia thanks, I'm new the the registry thing and just not sure what I want or how I want to do it. I really didn't want the headache but if it's what my guest want than it is completely worth the time. Any advice on making it an easy process is welcomed. Thanks @BarlettToBe for the info

I have heard that it doesn't update when people purchase gifts- is that accurate?

@Kajohnson81 I think you have to re-sync your registries every now and then to make sure it shows you whats purchased?

I would not recommend using myregistry.com. I recently used it for my baby registry as it is convenient to have items from several different retailers. However everything that was bought off the registry had all kinds of issues with orders being duplicated to never showing up to sending the wrong item. I emailed them to share my feedback and they offered to help. That was a week ago and there was no follow up since. I will never use their site again or would recommend it to others.
