Myregistry.com ?

Sara P., on December 25, 2017 at 7:20 PM Posted in Registry 0 18

I'm looking for a website that I can use for a universal registry. My FH and I have lived together for more than 10 years, we own our own home, and we have most of what we need. We would like to upgrade or replace some things as well as maybe have gift cards to certain stores for home improvement type stuff. MyRegistry.com seems almost too good to be true. What has your experience been with it? Anything you didn't like about it? Is there another universal registry you recommend instead?

I just joined MyRegistry as well & im Getting Married next year & we would like funds for our first home & other things. Heard great things about it & it’s recommended on other wedding blogs. I would want to know if other people have had experience with it though

I used myregisrty.com for a few things. We had no issues, and even had some items on it from international websites.

I’ve never used myregistry.com before so I can’t really give you any input about the website. However, I know that you can create a registry on Amazon.com. Since you’re looking to upgrade/replace items you already have, this may be a good option for you as amazon has a wide variety of things you can register for.

I saw that Amazon also has a universal registry. But I was looking for Home Depot gift cards on there and they don't have them. I wonder if you can add them from Home Depot website onto the Amazon universal registry.

I've bought things off of myregistry registries before and found it easy, my friends didn't have any complaints about it that they shared with me at any rate. Smiley smile

It’s done through PayPal, and they have, I believe a 2.5% processing fee per transaction.

My understanding was that is only for the cash fund request feature. Which I won't be using bc asking for cash is rude IMO.

Thank you! Same to you. ☺️☺️

My understanding of myregistry is it brings all your registries to one spot. To order, it takes your guests to that Store's website to finalize the purchase. This could be extremely helpful and organized for guests if you have multiple registries. 🙂 I’ve been looking into it for that.

I was actually working on my Amazon registry yesterday and I did see an option for Home Depot gift card. I'm not sure if it was very recently added or if I had to go to something in particular to see it.

Hmm. I was looking for it earlier tonight. Not ready to actually do any registries just yet but starting to think about it for the next couple of months.

I did see the Lowe's gift cards. FH prefer Home Depot though.

The Amazon registry allows you to add anything you can find on the web, not just things sold by Amazon. So you could add Home Depot gift cards to it. And they don't have a processing fee.

We used them for our holiday wish lists and liked them. I think we'll most likely end up using them again when we decide to make a wedding registry. Loved the cash gift feature / gift card option because we will definitely need that for home upgrades down the road (we already live together as well).

I would not recommend using myregistry.com. I recently used it for my baby registry as it is convenient to have items from several different retailers. However everything that was bought off the registry had all kinds of issues with orders being duplicated to never showing up to sending the wrong item. I emailed them to share my feedback and they offered to help. That was a week ago and there was no follow up since. I will never use their site again or would recommend it to others.
