Hey Ladies! I have an itch that there might be a proposal this weekend... That being said... I'm torn on which color nails to go with! The ring will be yellow gold and I have pale (with pink tones) skin and freckles! (Total Redhead Status) Thanks!!

We were on the beach with the kids at night when FH proposed. My engagement pics were the next day after breakfast. Hair bun. Bathing suits and flip flops. Photos taken by 7 year old.

Black matte. With skull decals maybe?

You'll never remember what your nails looked like.

Mine were a neutral color and my ring finger was gold. I did mine because I was going to meet my FH's uncle. I was on his hoodie half asleep when he proposed. Honestly didn't care about my nails. I was happy I get to marry the man of my dreams.

Mine was a surprise. I had no manicure and my hands were puffy from all the salt and bad food is been eating all day. I'm still engaged.

Don't overdo it in case your hunch is not a hunch at all.

Umm precongratulations? I really don't think it matters, just pick a color that feels right to you. I just wouldn't get your hopes up that it will happen when you think. I did that anytime we were going somewhere I made sure my nails were done, my hair was done, and my make up was perfect. He ended up doing it with friends at a winery, my hair was air dried, no make up, and my nails were chipped to hell and back. And honestly when it happened I couldn't care less what I looked like. I was just so happy that I was going to get to start a new journey with my best friend and love of my life.

Haha aww kind of bummed with some of the negative responses from some of ya girls, but it's ok. I'm not really great with the whole nail painting thing, usually I have on random colors for a day or so and change.

Just thought it would be nice to have them looking good and needed some direction. Thanks for the ones who responded! I appreciate it Smiley smile

That being said... at least Summer posted a ging cat...

I've only been here 6 weeks or so, so maybe I don't know, but are these pre-engagement posts common on a wedding planning board...? In any case, my nails looked much like they do now - ratty, dirty, uneven, with a burn right under my ring finger caused by a work injury...proud paramedic here. Still took pics, still got engaged, still getting married. Don't sweat the small stuff or wedding planning will kill you.

OK, I totally got a nice manicure AFTER I got engaged since I knew I'd be showing the ring and flashing around my nails. Are people seriously doing their nails to match the color of the ring they think they might get? wtf..

Hmmm, if you're that worried about it, why not just do a French mani? Seriously though, I make nail polish and polish my nails every 2-3 days, and I never really gave this much thought. In fact, I had a whole mashup of different holiday/Christmas stuff on my nails when DF proposed. *shrug*. I could see it being an issue if you were having a photographer there, or going for engagement pics, but for the proposal itself? Nah.
