Hey Ladies! I have an itch that there might be a proposal this weekend... That being said... I'm torn on which color nails to go with! The ring will be yellow gold and I have pale (with pink tones) skin and freckles! (Total Redhead Status) Thanks!!

@ almostmrsb - I love that you suggested black with skull decals! I almost did that for my wedding! (totally not joking either!)

@ Kerry - If you're so concerned with making sure your nails look nice just in case he does propose, just do something natural.

OP don't get your hopes up too much. I had a friend who thought her bf was going to propose while they were in Europe. He was initially going to, had the ring and everything. But decided he wanted to do it when they were with her whole family not in Europe. Well the whole trip she kept waiting and waiting and thinking it was THE moment. Never happened. She got super wasted one night and wallowed in self pity. Not a good look. They did get engaged and are married with two kids now. But don't put so much pressure on one moment.

That said my fave nail color is San Tropez by Essie or french.

@Celia!!! I always get a good laugh from you Smiley smile

I had no idea that a proposal was coming and my nails were not painted, but they were all long, except for my left ring finger because I broke my nail that morning.

I was wearing Jamberrys with CATS on them when he proposed. My SIL will never let me live that one down- she always said I would be a crazy cat lady. At first I cared because they looked ridiculous but now I just laugh!

Lol, not even gonna lie - FH was sneaky and gave me his card and told me to go get a mani and pedi the day he ended up proposing, because he knew i'd want my nails to look fancy when i took pics of my ring later. So i can understand the desire to pick out a cute mani for the occasion. I still remember what it was - Gelish Tokyo A-Go Go with little rhinestones at the base of the nail.

i thought it was really cute he even thought of that, even though i had no idea at the time, since manis and pedis are usually his go to "you're acting stressed out and crazy, here is something to help you chill" treat. Though if I assumed he was going to propose to me everytime he did that, id have gone insane.

My FH pushed me to get my hair and nails done before our house warming party. Even paid for it all! And he popped the question when I got home, before our guests arrived! I ended up going with a dark purple/grey because it was fall... didn't have the slightest idea he was going to do it and wasn't at all worried about my nails! Was just caught up in the moment!

My fiancé proposed the day after finals week (we went on vacation right after my last final) I'm usually obsessed with my nails (I paint them every 3-4 days) and I was 1% bummed I had chipped nails when he proposed. It wasn't really even on my mind. The next morning, he sent me to go get a mani/pedi.

Yeah...my nails were most definitely not done when we got engaged. Do what you would normally do.

I was not wearing nail polish. I rarely pain my nails.

Originally I was going to suggest a pretty blush color or a nude, but since you have fair skin w/ pink tones, I'm thinking cherry red or a nice bright violet?

I think mine happened to be a dark, dusty purple the day he proposed? The proposal was a complete surprise. The only person who got a picture of the ring on my hand the day of was my brother, and I'm sure he could have cared less whether my mail polish was chipped or if the color looked good with my ring. If he had just picked up the phone when I called, I wouldn't have even taken a picture of the ring that day. We only broke the news to immediate family the first day. All our parents had already seen the ring prior to the engagement. And honestly, the following day was a whirlwind and the condition of my nails never crossed my mind. We spent the whole next day contacting extended family and close friends before posting a picture of us from after the proposal (not the ring, gasp!) on FB. I felt that if anyone wanted to see it, they could make a point to see me or ask for a picture when they contacted me to say congratulations. There was no need for fancy nails for tons of pictures after the proposal. Just sit back, relax, and do your nails any color you like if you really want to.

What wedding planning you worry and think about all kinds of things you normally would not. I can totally understand wanting to do things fun like having the right color on your nails for a special day like getting engaged. I think you can never go wrong with a nice classic red color. Please keep us posted if he proposes this weekend, because if he does I would love to see a picture of the ring Smiley smile

The thing I find interesting is people are giving her a hard time for caring about the color of her nails and saying the important thing is to marry the love of your life. I don't understand how her wanting nails to look nice is any different than getting hair or makeup done or any other superficial detail about the wedding. I think most if not all of us think the most important part is marrying someone we love but we all have e differnt things we like about the wedding process and what we find important! Anyway i went with a light pink, but that is the normal color i pick as well
