Nails

Jeannette, on June 18, 2021 at 12:57 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
I have very short nails and they don’t grow so I’m
Going to have some acrylics put on but the only appointment I could get was 12 days before the wedding. I am worried this gives too much time for grow out etc and they will look like crap. Anyone know if I should try to move the date closer to the wedding day?

Yes, 12 days is way too early to get your nails done. I'd definitely try to find somewhere where you can get in a day (or 2 at the most) in advance.

Get them done three days before your wedding if you’ve never had acrylics before since somethings they can be hard to get used to and they can hurt a little, or two days before if you have, even if you have to travel a little bit.

It depends. 12 days is way too early if you want acrylics, but another option is to get powder or gel nails maybe 6 weeks beforehand - because they're so hard, it allows the nails to grow underneath without breaking. Then you can get them redone a day or two before the wedding.

    No actual acrylics needed!

12 days is way too early. Would definitely get them the day before.

Why change who you are for your wedding? It's like putting your hair in an updo when everyone knows you for your hair down? If you prefer to live with short nails, you can just have a soft pink or nude manicure. If you are worried about your cuticles, use cuticle oil everyday and moisturize your hands for a few weeks beforehand.

I suggest dip powder nails! I LOVE them! They are just as hard as acrylic, but are less of a commitment for upkeep and still look nice with short nails!
