Naked Cakes: Overrated or Underrated?

Underrated. I think they are so beautiful!

Probably one of the only wedding things I dont have an opinion on surprisingly. I think they are useful for barn and rustic weddings but not a glam or modern wedding. But to each his or her own

Overrated! Frosting can add so much detail to the cake! And it's the best part, imo.

Neither over or underrated. I love the look it gives but, I also love good frosting. It is a really trendy look these days but a good option for those who don’t like frosting.

While they are beautiful I say overrated. I love how frosted cakes look more, and I worry about the cake drying out

Underrated, I hate frosting though to be fair.

Underrated. No one needs that much buttercream. Some bakers use it to hide how little cake you get.

Underrated! I think they have a very nice rustic look and it’s something new. My FH and I are also not huge fans of frosting so it’s perfect for us!

I think they are beautiful and on looks alone possibly underrated but when it comes to taste.... bring on the buttercream and cream cheese frosting ...

Overrated. It’s different and cute, but doesn’t beat a fully covered cake! .... and now I want cake. 😭

I wouldn’t mind one for my bridal shower. I definitely prefer the look & yummy taste of a traditional butter cream cake for wedding day.

Overrated! Anyone who gets an edge piece will have dry cake and decorations are limited to basically flowers and that’s it. I don’t understand why people who don’t like frosting think they have to eat all the frosting, you can eat around it and the people who do like frosting get frosting! Win win!
