Naked Cakes: Overrated or Underrated?

Under I don't like a lot of frosting

I think this totally depends on personal preference!

I think naked cakes are so pretty!

This is actually my new favorite style. It's so rustic and rustic is my favorite!

Underrated. My fiancee has teeth sensitivity with too much sugar, so I like the idea of a cake with no frosting! We will be doing a cake that looks like an aspen, and I'd love a semi-naked cake but we can't do a design without frosting. I think there are pros and cons to both.

Overrated. whats the point of a cake with no frosting? thats leaving out the best part.

So extremely overrated. I worked in a bakery for a few years and we put out so many of these and they dry up faster and in my opinion give the whole cake a too-laid-back vibe. As someone who also hates frosting, I wouldn't do a naked cake unless it was almost completely engulfed in flowers.

We are not going all out for our cake. So i love named cakes.

To each their own. I think they look aesthetically pleasing, but I love frosting, so it would never work for me.

Overrated. You can have very little frosting but actually make it look like a finished product.

Overrated. People think they have to do this in order to make it a simple wedding cake but there are so many other ways to accomplish that.

Nope! I HATE these cakes! They look unfinished and dry! I'd rather my guests be able to scrape the frosting off then not have any frosting at all. These are a huge No for me.

Although they're not something I personally wanted, I think naked cakes are totally underrated!! They're so simplistic and beautiful.
