Name change process..

So i knew once we got married i had to wait for our marriage license to get back to us to start everything. It wasnt to bad took about 2 weeks to finally get it and so then as soon as i got it i had only time enough to go to social security office and change that. Then everything else was closed. So now i have to wait till tomorrow Monday to get rest or some more done. I am a very impatient person on certain things and this is one of them lol. I guess i didnt expect it to take longer then it has, didnt help i had to work late either the day we got it lol. Anyone else newly married and wishing the name change process was easier or faster lol?

    Oh shoot. We have to wait for the marriage certificate to come back before we can change our names? I was trying to do that the day after we got back from our honeymoon.

    Oh no you have to wait till you get the marriage certificate and then go to social securtiy office first then dmv then you can change it with everyone else student loans drs credit cards etc

    I am so dreading this process. I'm actually waiting until we move again and I switch jobs because I can't take off time to go get these things done. Hopefully will be around the end of the year.

    Yes it is very pain in the butt process and doesnt take a day it takes more then that i went to social security office one day bc line took while then at dmv today and bank and called my employers to switch my w4 forms so still have drs credit cards hospital etc to get done..so yea its a very time consuming thing

    You don't have to wait for the actual license. Your officiant should give you some sort of documentation. After my first wedding I did it the Monday after. I think maybe it depends on where you live.

    I live in upstate ny and he didnt give me anything and ive never seen anyone get a paper till there marriage license bc it has to have the seal on it to show its legal here anyway . Doesn't take long took about 2 weeks so not bad .

    I guess in here in Michigan it's different. He gave me a paper that I took to secretary of state (DMV in most states) and to the social security office. I took care of it like I sad two days later

    Oh man I waited so long. Our anniversary is in a couple weeks and I still haven't changed my driver's license I'm so half done and I just had a baby so I'm fairly certain I won't be finishing the process anytime soon 🤣🤣🤣. I was so convinced I would be on top of this and I clearly wasn't (I think I used snow as an excuse at one point!)

    Lol yea im slowly getting to it little by little lol ...soon the snow will be here so if i dont get it all done soon that will be me blaming it on the snow bc i HATE the snow lol but sadly lived with it my whole life lol ... so hopefully ill be dome with it all soon good luck getting yours finished and done lol😄
