Name change

Abbey, on September 3, 2019 at 8:38 AM Posted in Married Life 0 3
Hey everyone, how long did it take you to get your name changed after the wedding? We are going on our honeymoon 2 months after the wedding and were told by our town office we only had 30 days to change it before we would need to go to court to do it. I’m just a little worried about getting everything done, particularly the passport, which I know I will have to expedite. Do you think that is enough time to have all of my documents taken care of so there are no issues? I plan to start this week and to hand carry in the marriage license so that they process it while I wait rather than having our officiant mail it to them. For reference I live in NH. Thanks in advance!!

I haven't had to go through the whole process yet. But, I will tell you that if you are flying for your honeymoon, ensure that your plane ticket matches your drivers license/ passport. A lot of airlines will charge you to change the name, if they even let you change it.

That was my original plan but the town office I went to told me that if I waited more than 30 days I would need to go to court to change it
