Natural Red head- Hair extensions

Jess, on December 22, 2020 at 7:53 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 9
Getting married 8/2021 and I’m now in the process of researching hair extensions. Here’s the problem I’m a red head 🙄. All the websites I’ve looked at have red shades like that are either fire truck red or strawberry blonde. I can’t seem to find a good shade because I have some natural highlights that create multiple different shades in my hair. Anyone have any suggestions? Also do you guys suggest tape in or clip ins? THANKS GUYSSSSS

Here’s some pictures of my hair (sorry they’re not better)Natural Red head- Hair extensions 1

I don’t have experience with extensions at all. But, are there some that are dye-able and have a professional stylist dye them to match your natural color?
It might get expensive but if you really want them it might be worth it.

Your hair looks very full! You can probably find someone to make custom made extensions.

I recommend the halo extensions! They are the type you can take on and off, and they are so much healthier for your hair then clip in. But you can also take them to a salon and have them cut/dyed to match your natural! Also, your hair stylist who is doing your hair for the wedding should be able to help!

I would personally look up a hairdresser in your area that specializes in extensions because yes you might be looking online but sometimes hairdressers know of local people that sell extensions that may not be posted online. Also like someone else said if you buy maybe like blond or something that can easily be dyed to match your hair color. And as someone else said your hair already looks pretty full so it would just depend on the kind of style you want to wear but you might not need extensions. I would consult a hair and makeup artist or a hair stylist that has knowledge of extensions.

Look up Bellami! I never use extensions but my hairdresser insisted and I love it! I can use it multiple times and store them correctly. They sometimes have 10-15% off. I used the clip on and it stayed on a whole day.

Maybe check local beauty supply stores? I went to a place recommended by my hair stylist and they have a person there whose job is to match people for extensions. I was clueless. He picked them out quickly and even considered how soon I would be getting my highlights done before the wedding. I used them for my hair trial and they were perfect.

I just want to say that I know the struggle! I didn't need/want extensions, but every time I go to a new stylist they always joke, "This has to be your natural color - we couldn't bottle this if we tried!" -- because of the variations in color that you mention.

    Good luck!

I think a hair stylist would be able to assist. I have extensions, fake braids, rolls, and all sorts of things in my natural color that I ordered to wear to formal events about 8 years ago. We sent in a hair sample (I'm a dark strawberry blonde) to a company that used to have a huge selection. They chose the color of items that matched. Perfect! Name is Look of Love, if I remember correctly. Last time I looked, which was definitely over a year ago, they have now discontinued everything in my shade. I loved it because it was multi-colored like my natural hair. Your hair shade is gorgeous! I wish you the best of luck.

P.S. Do you use Just For Redheads? If not, it is a company devoted to all makeup and beauty for us. I love their mascara. I'll never wear black or brown again, as their shades make my eyes pop, and my eyelashes look natural, even if I'm wearing false eyelashes.
