NAV- future nieces and nephews

Renee2014, on December 12, 2013 at 10:43 PM Posted in Married Life 0 4

FH has two older sisters who both have children. I am an only child and to be honest I never thought much about what it would be like to be an aunt and as an adult I never I thought about being a sister. Now as I am going to officially be a SIL and an aunt I am just thinking about what those roles mean to me and just in general what it will be like to officially be part of a bigger family even though they FILs have always opened me with open arms. Any similar experiences?

We're in the opposite boat-- between my siblings, their spouses, and their kids, FH will be getting 5 brothers, 5 sisters, and 11 nieces and nephews. He's also an only child.

It sounds like things are going well for you so far-- from getting my own SILs, the most important thing for me was that my brother's wives treat us like family-- that may not always mean "polite" or even"nice", but being comfortable to be themselves around us and not trying to put on a show.

I'm marrying into a bigger family and I love it. I've always wanted to have siblings I can talk to, have secrets with, do stuff with. I will be getting a niece (and another one due on my wedding date >_<) and I absolutely love her. In fact, I am getting baby fever after having spent only a year with her (she is now 2). I just adore the entire famiily I am marrying into and I'm welcoming the new responsibilities I will be gaining

I am. I am not an only child, but my sister is 14, so I better not be becoming a biological aunt any time soon!!! FH is the youngest of three. His brother is seven years older and his sister is 14 years older. I met him already having a niece and nephew from his brother and since I have been around, his sister adopted a little boy (our RB). I already feel like their aunt, but I am excited for next Christmas to sign the labels "Uncle Adam and Aunt Vanessa" Smiley smile

My brother (only sibling) passed away shortly after DH and I started dating, so it was nice to get a SIL (DH's younger sister) when we got married. Then 7 months after we got married SIL got married. So now I have a SIL and BIL. They'll probably have kids down the road, so it'll be nice to have some nieces and/or nephews.

Though my BFF does have a little girl and little boy and we are Auntie and Uncle to them.
