Navy blue, lime/apple green & cream colors

shdwmac, on October 15, 2009 at 4:38 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

My FOH and I have decided on Navy Blue, apple/lime green and cream as our wedding colors. I really like the combo I'm just concerened about what I will do about flowers. There are plenty of pretty cream colored flowers and lots of great green accent flowers but all the blue ones seem to be more of a lighter blue. Do you think the lighter blue flowers would still work with Navy blue dresses? Or in centerpieces? I plan on doing a cream table cloth with a navy blue runner.

You could do something like this to incorporate the green:

    or

Thanks! I've got a lot of great ideas for the green just like the examples you posted. My main concern is getting the blue into the flowers though...

Those are our colors, too, and although it isn't *quite* a dark blue, hydrangeas can get pretty close, as well as having a pretty vibrant green.

Oh, and my flowers are silk, but I have some of them up on my inspiration boards. I actually ripped my bouqet apart and made it into a pomander as well, and haven't gotten to take pics yet.

Oh one last thing, if you call them, they WILL custom do your colors, for instance, you can do Navy and Ivory....I wanted Lavender and yellow and they did mine, again love it!

I think a lighter blue would accent the navy very well! Look into blue hydrangeas, hyacinth, iris, and blue delphinium!

Check out these bouquets. My favorite is the last one!

Oh sorry- I totally was missing your blue! Oops. What if you did the green centerpiece flowers but just added in navy blue crystals, marbles, jewels, etc in the vases?

I think it's fine to have lighter blue flowers in the bouquets. You can bring in the navy in accents like the ribbon around the stems of the bouquets, navy accents on the centerpieces and if the BM dresses are navy then the Cream/Green & light blue bouquets will really pop!

@ Simplysmittenbride - I LOVE that last bouquet too. It's nice to see the lighter blue flowers against the dark blue ribbon, I've had no luck finding a good pic like that.

@ Kari95630 - that's a great idea too with the crystals and stuff. Maybe I can do dark blue votive candle holders, that would look nice too.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!! I'm glad I posted! Feel free to add more ideas! lol

Use the WOW of the Lime and it will look modern and beautiful.

I have a wedding in your colors on my website at

www.suzannemsmithdesigns.com look in the Bouquet Gallery for a few amazing shots.

There is a new roses called Green tea that is a light lime.

There are sherbet green cymbidiums, spider mums and Kermit buttons. For navy Iris is beautiful too.

As you will see the green tones against the blue gowns is a real photo op!!
