I think that's totally fair, Alexandria! I'm not a huge fan of champagne, but I do like the idea of cheersing!

Not necessary, but I LOVE champagne so we are having one. Of course folks are welcome to toast with whatever makes their hearts merry.

We will definitely do a toast, but I think guests will use whatever drink they have. Forcing another drink on them can be a little dangerous, and expensive!

I wish we'd had one. We had a toast and MIL snuck in champagne and forgot to give us some lol

Debatable. Needs to be done well and tastefully. Limit toasts, make them earlier — more sober talks hah.

I like the classiness of a champgne toast, so I believe we will have it. It is not necessary though

We are having a champagne toast only because it was thrown in for free with our off-season date. Otherwise, we would have just had guests toast with their own beverages.

How sneaky! And that's a little...I think I'm gonna go with off kilter. If anyone should've gotten champagne it should've been you two! Smiley laugh

That's as good a reason as any to have a champagne toast, Shannon! Did you venue offer any other perks due to you getting married in the off season?

Ironically she even mailed us the cork from the bottle with a bunch of other stuff. We called her and we were like what is this random cork from? She was like the champagne we snuck in at your wedding remember? We were like um yeah you forgot to share. She was laughing so hard.

Hi Maggie! Yes, we also got free upgraded linens, 20% off entres, discounted venue fee, hot cocoa bar, and a discounted ceremony fee. It's also been really helpful with our vendors too who have offered off-season discounts.

No. I think making a toast with whatever you’re drinking is fine

For our venue, the toast is included in the package. If it wasnt, I would think doing a toast with whatever beverage the guests chose would be a better budget saver, and would allow people who dislike champagne to not partake.

I really don't want toasts so not going to do one. I find them too stuffy.

Ooh, that's nice that your package includes it! Is it through your venue or your caterer?

Not necessary. I feel like nobody on my guest list will care if they are toasting with champagne, cheap wine or kool aid, if they do they'll get over it
