Not necessary but super fun! Me & FH both said over the weekend how fun that would be at our wedding so now I think we’re going to find a photo booth!

I wouldn't say it's necessary, but it is a fun activity for your guests to help them stay occupied!

My cousin had a photobooth at her wedding. It was an open layout so anyone could see what you were doing. I didn't use her photobooth because I hate when people watch me take photos or if there is a line waiting for me. So we're skipping it, but it's definitely something you can include if you have a reception that has some down time!

Not a necessity, but for sure is loads of fun! I've never been to a wedding that had them, only my HS prom, but it captured some fun moments that would have gone missed otherwise.

We didnt even use it when we were a guest at other weddings with it. I'd rather use that money elsewhere.

I think they are not necessary, but I wouldn't mind using one at a wedding, nor would I be against having one at our wedding. I think they need to be done right though and as efficient as possible.

Not necessary or wanted anymore. I roll my eyes when I see one because it’s one more thing you “just have to do” and look like you’re having “the beat time ever.” Of course we have kept all our pictures from photo booths from events in the past, but you can see that the excitement and creativity has significantly faded over the years. They used to be a novelty (use a real one that actually developed photos in 5 minutes on our first date) but not anymore.

I find that photobooths only seem to run well and be a hit with guests if its an actual hired one. If its just a setup with a frame and props, unless the bride and groom are doing it or there are signs/announcements, i've never seen those used.

We are having one because we aren't as in to the dancing and many of our guests aren't either. Its also great to hire one if you have a lot of kids/teens...ours has unlimited photos and I just know my cousins' kids are going to have a blast. They live out in the country far from malls/theaters/anywhere with photobooths, so some of the younger kids will likely never have been in one.

We will have favors located next to the photobooth of either a clear bookmark to put the photo strip in, or a magnetic clear thing it can go in.

Photo booth are expensive but you can always rent.

I loved going to weddings with photo booth because I got to take home pictures from the wedding and didn't have to wait till they posted.

Never miss a photo booth. We did what has pleased us most at other people's weddings, and one of the two photographers set up in the Inn Foyer, nicely lit for the purpose, and took pics of any person or group that asked, usually a couple shots. Our plan with them was we would take a print, or photofile, and every person in a photo could get one, as our cost. My In Laws started asking, could they deal with photographer to order more prints in different sizes beyond the one each. We left that between him and the photo subjects. So many requests, lasted 2 hours, people stepping away from reception for 5 minutes. Bar just inside adjacent doorway. Busy for 2 hours. 2nd photographer was doing candids on dance floor, and table areas. It worked very well. Photographer one did our ½ hour walk on grounds, starting 1¾ before people arriving, second did bridal party groups, family groups, all pics without us. So after the ceremony, we missed only 10 minutes of cocktails while each of us was photographed with our half of bridal party, and our own parents and family , 2 photographers in now clear ceremony area, went fast. Including our extra prints, the 2¼ hours of pics for anyone ended up costing only $425 more than our original plan, 2 photographers 5 pm to 11 pm, with our ceremony start 7pm. We still went on til 1 am, with only one photographer 11-1, and only smartphone pics of people going strong til we went to bed at 3am. Loads of people ordered more than the one complementary shot of every picture they were in, during the hall session. By email in weeks after wedding, all available at 3 weeks. We were happier with this than a photo booth, in part because some family or friend or college friends, whatever groups, were up to 15 people in a shot. Photographer managed well framed shots , unlike a photo booth. We never wanted any getting ready shots earlier as no one started getting ready until 3:45 or later, and we got the few getting ready shots we wanted with our cameras. All got ready separately in our rooms in the same 1½ or less time. So nothing for the photographer to do, and were happy we paid for the second person throughout, instead of one all day.

I don't think it's a necessity and I haven't been to a wedding with one. But I really wanted one because of the bridal shows I've been to lol still not in our budget though so it's a no for me!

Not necessary but fun for sure. I got all my props for free so we are for sure having one. If I had to buy everything I have for it, I don't think I would move things in the budget around to fit it if it didn't fit already. I have never been to a wedding that had one.
