Necesary. We're getting married on a Friday evening. People may need to take PTO to come so I wanted to get those out sooner rather or later.

Necessary. People plan vacations and events a long time ahead. After you pick a date you want to make sure your guest know not to plan anything for that day if they want to attend your wedding.

Depends how big your guest list is. You could always just spread it by word of mouth or a physical reminder could help. Ours is right before the holidays so it’s a friendly reminder to plan accordingly, especially as some of my family lives in a England.

That’s a great point! We are doing a Sunday so people may have to take off Monday. I was about to nix these but you made an awesome point!

Depends on how long the engagement is. If it’s far out and we want to give your guests a heads up, especially for destination weddings, I think they’re great. Gets everyone excited for the wedding early!

That makes sense! I feel like with that amount of time, skipping the save the dates and going for straight invitations is easier!

I totally agree, stationary can add up!! Especially when you aren't having a destination wedding that's too far, you don't really need them!

Completed Necessary. Especially having family from all over the place, and trying to give them the best chance possible to be with us for our wedding.

Not necessary for us. We've had our daye set for 2 years, all of the important friends and family know the date. So we opted out of doing sa e the dates, plus that was savings that went to other aspects of our day.

Necessary for us and sent!! We also included a small insert card directing people to our wedding website for more info!

We will be sending invitations out April 1st! Can't believe we're just a month away from that

I don’t think they are necessary. I sent them 8 months in advance for the attendees that I knew would need time to plan for the wedding ie make travel arrangements or request time off.

We sent some just because 98% of our guest list is out of town.

Not necessary except for destination weddings IMO. My wedding is over a year out and as soon as I booked the venue, I sent a save-the-date via text/email to my overseas family members. Everyone else is just going to get an early invitation.

We skipped it. I sent the invites a little early and it seems to be working out fine

Necessary- Most of our guests are from out of state so we wanted to give them plenty of time for a heads up. I just ordered them last night and will be sending them out asap.
