Is it a wedding without a wedding cake? The cake cutting and cake face smash are classic wedding traditions, but many couples have been switching it up recently with different delicious desserts! Not necessary for us. We both like cake well enough, but weren’t like “absolutely must have it!” We are doing a dessert table with the primary dessert display being mini personal sized pies in multiple flavors instead of cake!

If you are willing to pay for the cake, your baker shouldn't have a ptoblem with your request.
Hope you get your cake and eat it too!

We really wanted to do a wedding style cheesecake since me and FH aren't big cake eaters. Not to mention we HATE icing. I could not find a company to do it for me! How hard can it be! We wanted one nice cheesecake, kind of like one from the Cheesecake Factory, and a bunch of personal cheesecakes with a toppings bar (kind of like the personal pie idea). But noooooo.... we had to get a regular cake. Boo.

We had a wedding cake, but opted out of smashing it in each other's face. If it were my decision, we would not have had a wedding cake. We would have just had a dessert table.

Sophia, we ARE getting our cake and the price is more than we dreamed ( $$$...Ha! Ha! 😂), but we'll have it!! Yay!! Her cakes are supposed to be delicious, I sure hope so. We live too far away for a tasting. Time will tell. Thanks!! ❤ Hope yours is perfect, too!!!

I didn’t think a traditional cake was necessary. I wanted to do nothing bundt cakes, but H really wanted a “real” cake so we could do a cake cutting, so we did that! I don’t really like or care for cake, but it was important to him. We did not do the cake smash. That was a HARD no.

I ordered a Styrofoam cake for our wedding and I am going to decorate that. Our venue has cake already so it is just for decoration. I do feel it is necessary but no one needs to know it is fake and then we don't need to spend the money on a real one.

Necessary - cake is life! But it doesnt have to be the traditional tiered cake - we are doing a set of Buches de Noel in white chocolate, chocolate and dark chocolate with cream cheese frosting and merinque mushrooms and holly berries for decoration (and eating). There will be no smashing though and there will be no dancing music until my cake is gone and so is my coffee (the only other "dessert" we will have is a coffee and tea bar). And I will be sitting and savoring my delicious delicious dark chocolate cake.

I do not like cake at all! We are having cake since my FH loves it but we are having a full dessert bar which will include pies, which are my favorite. And if he knows not to smash cake in my face and ruin a $100+ makeup job LOL
