Need advice on how to cover this ugly piece of our venue (pic)

Our wedding venue is a historic mill. It's beautiful, I love it, blah blah blah. BUT.....I guess they decided there should be a lame mural of the mill inside the mill?? How do I cover this? It's a cement wall so I'm not sure how anything would hang there. I've been picturing fabric, or a ribbon...

I dont know if you have an extra $200 but here is a backdrop that i found on etsy, it looks pretty thick. you wouldnt need to spend time making it.

ETA: i am sure you could get it custom colors too

I think almost all rental companies have backdrops Smiley smile They're pretty popular and normally they're used behind the head table etc. I would hate to build a PVC frame, and I'm a hardcore DIY-er, lol.

Personally I would still notice the mural but if your photographers have any sense about them, you won't notice the mural in your wedding photos.

Yes! That's exactly what I was picturing, Surfergirl! If I can hang it with 3M hooks, I might be sold. I have to go to the venue in a couple of weeks and measure everything.

I am crafty, but I'm not taking on too many DIY projects...just trying to reduce stress since I already have a pretty busy life. Also, we already have to do all of the decorating ourselves so it could quickly spiral out of control. We'll be hanging lights, setting up the ceremony space, and everything a few hours before the wedding.

ETA: I'm also going to check with my rental company before buying anything.

I would use a bunch of curtains, long ones to kinda rest on the floor a little. I'd probably even add lights behind the curtains ?? Something like this....

Hopefully if you wanted to buy one you can find someone to make it long enough for you, the seller i posted said that her supplies for ribbons range in length from 5-7ft i don't think that would be long enough for the wall.

ETA: here is another Etsy seller

I'm not sure what your colors are what the style of the wedding but these ideas looked pretty easy and cheap to do.

You cant do a streamer wall without something behind the streamer or it will show through.
