Need Advice!

So over a year ago my fiancé and I joked about having our best friend marry us. But once we started planning we decided not to make it a joke anymore and just go ahead and have them do it.
Well now with the wedding being less than a year away, we thinking maybe we should choose a different route... that maybe we should go with someone experienced. Onto of that, my fiancé would rather have them as a best man and be apart of the wedding without stress. Being our friend has never married someone before he’s naturally stressed about doing it.
So do you guys think it’s wrong to have someone else do it and then asking him to be a best man instead?

    It sounds to me like all three of you are on the same page. I don't see anything wrong with having a conversation with the best friend. Sounds like he would much rather be the best man.

    If he doesn't seem thrilled about it anyway, I think it would be a relief to him to just participate as best man.

    If the guy is nervous and isn't confident that he can pull it off I think you should definitely hire someone who is experienced. One of my best friend's is marrying us, but she is a natural orator and excited about doing it.
