Need Help With Bridesmaid Colors Please!

Jamie, on February 2, 2016 at 2:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I've been struggling about what color my bridesmaids should wear and would love some help.

I've always loved blush dresses with navy blue suits, so that was my starting point. I've been leaning toward David's Bridal because I have a few out-of-state bridesmaids. Specifically, I've been looking at petal or bellini from David's Bridal for color choices.

My top choice was petal, but I'm concerned that it is too light and that it will look similar to my dress in bright outdoor pictures. Also, my girls are pale so I dont know how they will look. I like bellini but it isn't what I've envisioned from the beginning. I'm scared that bellini will be harsh in pictures. I'm nervous about screwing up this decision.

I'd love some advice on colors and/or suggestions or similar affordable bridesmaid dresses that you know look great and photograph well. Can anyone ease my fears about petal or recommend a better shade? Thank you!

I decided on blush dresses and didn't like any of the pinks from David's. They were too Barbie pink compared to what I wanted. I went with Mori Lee, Allure, and Bill levkoff for my blush needs. I am doing a few different shades of blush so it works perfect!

I'm using petal and bellini from David's and I've taken pictures with the girls in those color dresses next to my dress, which is ivory if it matters, and they look great! The Vera Wang line there also has a "petal" color that I think is just called blush (maybe?) that one of my girls ordered and it's really pretty. Petal definitely wasn't too light though, they actually have an even lighter pink called angel.

Thanks for the feedback! I really love Bill Levkoff's blush, but the prices were a little high (I'm not helping them pay for their dresses). I saw petal next to an ivory dress inside and could clearly see the difference. I guess I'm nervous about how the dresses will look outside.

@katie90 Are you going with long or short dresses? I always envisioned long dresses, but now I'm thinking that short dresses might separate them from me a little more.

You could try Azazie, they have a pearl pink color that is less Barbie pink and is really pretty.

I'm having the same struggles as you! I love the blush, navy and grey colors! I'm having a destination wedding and scared those colors won't go w/ my Sept beach wedding!

Petal was too light for me as well. I went with pearl pink from Azazie for my girls.

Let me see if I have a pic.

What about dusty rose? It's got a gray tint so may have a little more contrast. But I personally love light BM dress colors next to the bride.

Petal is really light. I would go with Bellini it's more of a blush color

Thank you all for the responses! They've been very helpful! I forgot to attach the photo of my inspiration for the girls' colors. This is the look I was going for..

@littlefoot - I've looked at dusty rose, too! It is really pretty -- different from what I was thinking, but it might be a richer color overall.

@Elyse - Pearl pink is beautiful! You and your bridesmaids look so great!

How was your experience with Azazie??
