Need help with makeup look

Kimberly, on September 8, 2020 at 6:00 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 26
Hi ladies. I need help finding inspiration pics for my makeup. I’m not a big makeup person. Even my date night makeup is pretty simple. I am a brown eyed, brunette with fair skin. I haven’t totally decided but I will probably do some kind of updo for my hair, but I’ll want it to be a little messy. I’m not really a “put together” kind of person. LOL
I’ve done some searching and I’m thinking “romantic” is probably the look I need to go with, but what kind of color pallet? Any help you ladies can offer is much appreciated!

Two suggestions- I did both myself
Pinterest wedding makeup and you tube wedding hair and make up. Both helped me greatly

Well if you are going to hire someone to do your makeup I think it's better to maybe let them work with what you want. So for example my artist I think did my makeup perfectly how I wanted it because I told her that I still want to look like myself, I don't want a Glam bold look but I want to look natural with a pop of color. She even said it best that I'm going to look like they'll enhanced version of myself. I do agree with the previous person that you can let the makeup artist know your wedding color scheme. Since mine is burgundy and Peach she a corporated some red into my eyes. I would also strongly suggest looking at Pinterest as that's where I found a lot of hair and makeup inspiration. If you are planning on hiring a makeup artist they should be skilled enough to know what kind of look you're going for and work with that and make some suggestions because there are things I would not have thought to ask for with makeup that she wanted to try and it ended up looking gorgeous.

I’ve searched Pinterest and have found a couple of pics but just haven’t found anything that I really love. 😏

Yes, ideally I would have a trial run with her but we are having a destination wedding so I am not able to do a trial with my makeup artist. I am hoping to do a trial someone here locally just so I can see what I like and then be able to show her pictures of me wearing the makeup look I like best. Best laid plans though. LOL

Google fair skin brunette wedding make up. It may help a little more.

Instagram and Pinterest have a ton of ideas. What colors look best on you? Do a search for 'lavender eyeshadow looks' as an example and see what you love.

I honestly have no idea what colors look best on me. All I ever wear is shades of brown. Makeup is not a skill I have.

I will do that. Does my eye color matter when choosing eye shadow colors?

You have beautiful features in your profile picture, keep the rosy cheeks and try some mauve shades - sorry - I ran to my travel make up to find this - this is Lancôme but Estée Lauder has a great combo (top pic - don’t let the plum color scare you). These were all samples. But they are very safe and neutral colors.

With brown eyes, most anything goes. A makeup artist can still doll you up from inspiration pics you like. Browse and see what catches your eye.

But this is also really pretty.

Is that second one too much for an afternoon wedding though? I probably should have also mentioned that my wedding is at 3:30 so not an evening event.

Your inspiration pictures are great - looks like you have hazel??? eyes? But either way I think either one of those pictures would accentuate your features- and they definitely match the 3 palettes I just shared. LOL

This is great! Thank you! There is always a plum color in almost all of the eye shadow pallets I use but I only ever use the browns. LOL I really should branch out some but it’s scary!

You know you’re right, my eyes are more hazel now. They have lightened up a lot over the years. I always say brown because that’s what they have always been until just in the last 5 or 6 years.

Use the darkest color in your crease, blend softly inward, then the next darker, just under the crease line and blend softly, the lightest of the darks should be almost to the center at this point and now you want to blend to include the middle color.
The absolute lightest color should be your brow and inside eye / corner - definitely dab into that corner that palest color to highlight the entire eye.

Never be afraid of those wild colors! I’ve been testing my wedding makeup for work each day, I do the speedy version to see if I like certain colors.
