Need help

Alina, on January 24, 2024 at 4:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 1
Hey everyone!!! This is literally my first post and I am in need of assistance. I currently got engaged a few weeks ago, and me and my fiance are in the process of planning are wedding. We live in nyc and would love to have are wedding here due to majority of are familes living all over nyc and the surrounding areas, but honestly when we priced everything it's wayyyy too much. So he suggested a nice destination wedding in the caribbean ( since we both are from the islands) can anyone suggest a nice all inclusive venue in the Caribbean or if they know of a beautiful venue in nyc that can hold up to 250 ppl that isn't too expensive.

Have you looked into the venues owned by the city/county parks department? They are typically half the price of an all inclusive venue when all is said and done and they include tables and chairs, and usually have a full kitchen. Also check out Peerspace or Splacer that allow you to bring in your own restaurant drop off catering from a favorite casual restaurant. Grocery stores are great for budget friendly cake and flowers. Take advantage of any wholesale markets open to the public that sell items at a lower cost. Party rental companies are cheaper in the long run than purchasing/DIY which doesn’t consider your time and sanity at minimum wage per hour in addition to cost of supplies. And unless you regularly host that many people in your home or have a house of worship to donate to, you won’t break even by selling online, which also adds to the cost of your labor.

As far as a destination weddings, they are considered cheaper for the couple because they pass all the expenses they are responsible for onto the guests who are not responsible for anything beyond their own travel expenses. They also weed out those who are unable or unwilling to pay the higher expenses or the PTO that not everyone gets.
