Need ideas for multi colored wedding

Joy, on November 19, 2010 at 9:30 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 31

I've tossed around several color themes in my head but nothing seems to work for me. I realized that I just really like all colors and would like to have them all in my wedding (mostly primary and secondary colors). I was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas for flowers and decorations and stuff, that are inexpensive and are not tacky. I'm also have my wedding in May; so even though I love bright colors, I don't want anything too intense.

I've seen some great wedding where the bridemaids and groomsmen are all in black, but they each have a different, brightly colour for their flowers shoes accesssories for the girls, and waistcost pocket hankerchiefs for the guys. They always look really striking to me.

What about having each bridesmaid in a different color?

    D. Tutera had a bride with a somewhat similar wish: to have various colors but also with butterflies. I'm trying to find video (but the episode will be airing again soon - check WeTV.com).

In a nutshell all the BMs were in one skyblue color dress, and everything was done on a minimal scale.

Well that kinda looks tacky to me, I was sort of asking more for flowers that go together, but I guess everyone has a different opinion about about what is and isn't tacky and about what flowers go together. I will still welcome any ideas though.

Joy, I'm not suggesting butterflies. What I am suggesting is choose ONE main color and have other colors fall in line behind it. So in this case, blue was the main color (although the dresses were ugly lol).

Found some pics from the episode. http://www.blog.michaelsegalweddings.com/?p=376

My suggestion is to hire a planner or at least enlist the help of someone with a good eye whom you can thank with a nice gift.

I think pretty much all flowers go together. Walk into the floral section at any store.. Trader Joes usually has premade bouquets of flowers. I love wildflowers and they very colorful and lgerber daisy come in soo many colors..

I've always liked the idea of a garden wedding, so I was actually just thinking of having all my bridesmaids it white or ivory and then having wildflowers. I'm just saying that butterflies would also go along with this theme.

Whoa, there are some incredible ideas here. We decided on going with a multi colored tropical theme after seeing an album our photographer showed us from her June 5t wedding. It totally changed my course of action. I will post photos soon! The wedding is Sunday!!

I thought this was a good idea. All the different colored dresses are tied together with the same color sash.

I had a "multi" color wedding. It was on the subdued side though. My party was in all black with the accessories popping. Each couple had a different color, the flowers of the girl matched the vest, tie and bout on the guy. Then my flowers were all the colors with white. It was so subtle and gorgeous in my eyes. Our reception had all the colors incorporated in the table clothes and decorations. Sorry these are the best ones on my computer.

Joy, I love your idea of the bridesmaids in white or ivory (whichever you're wearing) and then carrying brightly colored bouquets...I think that'd be beautiful!
