Need ideas/suggestions for making a rustic wedding indoors (pics included)

Future Mrs, on January 30, 2014 at 12:13 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

My original thought was to have a reception outdoors because i was going for the whole rustic/country look. well after going through 30 different venues no one had our date open except for one...now it will be inside...still beautiful just not what i had i my head. so now i need help trying to make it look rustic in a modern venue. my fh really likes uplighting and modern lighting so i am also trying to make him happy. i also bought these centerpieces off craigslist. any thoughts??? thanks from a lost bride

    Hello date twin!

We are also having a rustic themed wedding and we haven't nailed down a venue yet because nothing is catching my eye! Everything is way too modern for our taste! So I'm going to keep an eye on this post and she what others suggest seeing as I will most likely be in the same boat. Smiley sad Good luck!!

Lots of lace and burlap....I am also going for rustic. However, our venue looks like a barn from the outside and more of a rec center on the inside.

Because of the draping and lighting I would go for an "elegant rustic" feel.

    I love the draping!

    It will turn out gorgeous!

    welcome & congrats!

Awwe I feel you on being confused! I've been trying to hone in on what i want for my outdoor rustic wedding and it's just as hard. My mom bought burlap placemats for each setting and sent me pictures of a wine and beer bottle wrapped in twine with flowers coming out. I think as long as you bring some natural things and colors indoors it will look lovely. Also, you can put pictures in mason jars and olive oil for a sepia look. Hope this helps a little!

    Date twin!

I'm also going to be watching this because I don't have a venue anymore, so I may need some ideas! I know we are using burlap, lace, and mason jars.

Those chair covers make that venue look very fancy. If you do something like a burlap sash on each chair, that will "country" it up a lot. Pull in the blue of those flowers for the table covers, topped with a burlap and lace runner, or maybe find faded blue and ivory table cloths (you may have to antique/thrift for these) and raw wood accents. Some burlap wreaths or other wall decor with baby's breath and maybe the blue color (in burlap or cotton fabric) bows would bring more country flair as well. Are you having sit down dinner? If you have any buffet tables, that is another space to get creative with outdoor accents and burlap fabric coverings.

I know these ARE more outdoorsy and barn like, but just look at the decor.

I feel like if you are able to keep up a lace, burlap, and antique toned color motif that you will be able to transform the venue.

I am doing rustic as well, but in a wooden building so it's a little easier. But burlap table runners, wooden accents, lace, varied glass jars, and wildflowers will really bring the feel in. I did some twine wrapped bud vases, and it was super easy.

We just did a rustic vow renewal for my parents anniversary. Our favors were placed in brown paper bags with a pretty stamp on them and put at the place setting. We used lots of mason jars, twine, burlap and created some awesome heart garland out of dictionary pages. Use browns and creams. Light greens, light pinks and rust colors all blend nicely too. Stay away from stark white and black. Good luck!

We have a rustic theme as well, and our venue is also indoors at a ballroom/banquet hall. We're using mason jars filled with colored marbles and Baby's Breath as our centerpieces. Our guest book is made out of burlap and lace, and our we have some other rustic themed non-reception items that we are using to incorporate our theme more. The centerpieces also have twine wrapped around them, and we are also renting burlap table runners. Check Pinterest, I am positive you'll find lots of ideas there. Smiley smile
