Need Maid of Honor/best Man?

Jamie, on January 2, 2021 at 8:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
My fiancé and I are planning a wedding for next October and when making our wedding party, while we have friends we want to include, there aren’t any that we feel close enough to designate Maid of Honor or Best Man.
He wants to make sure it wouldn’t be “weird” to not have those designated people. But as long as we have people to sign the marriage license, this wouldn’t be an issue right? We’re not planning on having showers or bachelor/bachelorette parties so wouldn’t need anyone in charge of that.

It’s not weird at all 🙂 Wedding parties altogether are entirely optional!

Nope. My friend had no wedding party at all. Just her little brother.

Definitely not weird. My daughter & her wife had no wedding party. I & her wife’s father were the witnesses.

Definitely not weird, because they aren't required.

Not weird at all. Any witness can sign the license. Our license didn't even require a witness to sign.

Nope, not weird! You can have anyone sign the marriage certificate. We actually forgot about that part until the end of the night and we got two people in the vicinity when we remembered, who ended up being husband's dad and grandpa.

I just realized we aren’t having them, at least the kind that do anything other than walk down the aisle. My two adult daughters and hopefully his adult daughter if she wants to, and his son if he wants to. If not he’ll get a friend.
There is no way I’m picking one of my daughters over the other, nobody has time for that...drama LOL

You don’t have to have a MOH or BM.
