I ended up not going with them . . . they seemed very pushy and I could never find any local photographers or videographers that have worked with them. So I decided to hire private and independent services, locally recommended. I may be paying a bit more, but I feel way better about knowing exactly who the people are that will be working with us on our special day. Having met the photographer and videographer beforehand is definitely reassuring that they'll be a great fit and enhance our experience.

My fiance and I are using them now. It seems to be working out well. They are taking a long time to find the videographer but we really like the photographer that was assigned to us. our wedding is in Oct. It does come across as scammish- but it has been great and affordable. We are in DC.

AVOID KAPTURLY AT ALL COSTS!!

If you arent looking for details I will keep this first part short and simple: Videography and Photography are something that you SHOULD NOT skimp on for the ONE time that you do this! Kapturly contractors absolutely botched the videography and photography for our wedding! The shooters were so inexperienced and all in all, missed capturing a lot of the most important parts of our wedding. We could not be more disappointed with the content that they DID get as well. Photo quality, framing, and positioning were terrible. The videographer missed speeches, vows, and prayers that we wanted to remember forever and cut everything up into tiny 15-30 second clips. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE for your own good and the sake of your wedding day memories, do not make the same heartbreaking mistake I did. NOBODY EVER book with this company.

And here is the WHOLE story, for those who are interested:

We were getting close to being over on our budget and I found this company and thought that I had hit the jackpot of best-kept secrets! Boy was I wrong!

After assigning me contractors from the wrong city and MYSELF being the one who noticed and pointed this out after looking them up and seeing they were both located in a city not close to me whatsoever, Kapturly then assigned more contractors, one who was friendly enough and the other who blatantly responded on the thread that I was included in that she would not work with them anymore as a contractor because they do not communicate well, and paid no attention to the fact that she did not have our wedding date available on her schedule she gave them. They then assigned a THIRD photographer who was nice enough.

I had to reach out to both the photographer and videographer after the allotted 2-week time period they tell you to wait and allow the contractors to reach out to you. I then was asked by both of them or details about the wedding and specifically what shots and moments we wanted to make sure they got. I am a detail-oriented person so I was VERY specific with both of them about everything we wanted! Even shots that you think would be common sense to a wedding shooter, like getting videos of all of the vows and speeches, and pictures of the wedding party and bride and groom after the ceremony. Everything seemed fine until the day of the wedding...

The photographer did not seem like he had ever shot a wedding before, he was very nervous and when we began shooting the bridal party, he asked us to position ourselves and asked me what shots we wanted... The bride and groom should not have to choreograph their own wedding pictures, that is what you hire someone to do for you on the day you should only have to worry about enjoying yourself! So things like this happened all throughout the day, the photographer not seeming to know what he is doing. The videographer on the other hand SEEMED a tad more experienced on the day of.

Then we had to wait over 2 months to receive our content (when the contract said within 45 days we should either get our content, or be contacted with an ETA for it. And when we did get our pictures I was DEVISTATED. In the whirlwind of the day we realized that we did not specifically ask the photographer to take any photos of JUST me or JUST the groom... and he of course never suggested this (as any respectable wedding photog would). The grooms party did not get photos individually with the groom, again because my husband did not suggest it (as I had) and the photog never said anything either. We only got 4-5 portraits of just us together as a couple, and we had to position ourselves for all of those!! He missed classic shots that anyone would know to take such as: the fathers reaction in the first look with the bride (he was shooting MY FACE, not my dads), the grooms reaction when he saw his bride walking down the aisle for the first time, photos during the first kiss that DIDNT show someone else in the background, photos of the bride and groom walking back up the aisle. I could go on and on.

Not to mention the actual quality of the photos. There were shots with the tops of people's heads cut off, shots where a member of the wedding party would be just cut in half off the side of the frame of the photo, and just straight up BLURRY pictures were delivered to us in the gallery... Not all of these are shooter error, as Kapturly edits their photos and videos in house, they should have NEVER delivered photos like this to the client, even if the shooter sent them in. I cannot believe they made us pay for blurry pictures and pictures with actual people being cropped and/or cut out of pictures!

The videography came in about a month after the pictures and by this point I wasn't expecting much... The highlight video was actually beautiful. But I was not sent the raw footage that was included in the contract. Which I was expecting to include the speeches, vows, and prayers that I had mentioned beforehand I wanted him to make sure to record in their entirety. So I asked for the raw footage and was sent a link for that another week later. Thats when I was disappointed yet again! The videos were all 15-35 second clips. He recorded bits and pieces of our vows, and did not record the speeches or prayer at the reception AT ALL.

Overall booking with Kapturly was the biggest regret I have had in my life so far. We had a beautiful wedding and I had the time of my life! But I would not ever want anyone else to feel as heartbroken about the pictures and videos that you have to commemorate that day forever as I am.

I would not book with this company. They are not as reliable as they claim to be. They have horrible communication and I would not recommend them to ANYONE

Well I just signed with them and I got the videographer and photographer. I have spoken to both the gentleman that will be working with me that day and have sent pictures back and forth of my vision. So far so good 🤷🏽‍♀️ will update you after our wedding 2.22.22 🥰

I had a covid wedding in February and then a big celebration in September 2021.
I honestly wish I would have just paid a photographer who’s work I’ve seen before. Kapturly contracts photographers and you don’t really know what you’re getting because everyone’s style of shooting is so unique. I wanted photos that were candid and natural and almost all of my photos were posed and formal. My photographer had a lot of knowledge in photography, but wasn’t great with working with people. I look awkward and uncomfortable in my photos because she wasn’t listening to what I wanted. She also didn’t get the most important photos I asked for. And don’t get me started on my wedding video. What you see on their website is not always what you’ll get. If you want to look back on your day and be reminded of those good memories, invest in a good photographer and videographer. You’ll know exactly what to expect if you know who you’re hiring.

I'm SO confused by all the people asking how things turned out? MULTIPLE people have responded saying they had terrible experiences with this company. Let's say it's a 50-50 chance whether it's good or awful... why would you risk that?

You'd be so much better finding your own contractor and knowing exactly the quality you're going to get.

And, if I had a small photography budget (and to be honest I'd probably reduce the cost of a lot of other things before I reduced cost on a photographer, because a good photographer can make just about any detail look good, even in a carpark) I would go with someone enthusiastic but less experienced looking to build their portfolio, maybe find someone through a local facebook photography group or similar.

Your wedding day is such an important moment that most people value having recorded. I just feel awful for all of these people posting how bad their experiences were and am confused why it's still even a question.

Yes - Dillon's attitude made me start second guessing and looking into if they are credible or not. I've interacted with 5-10 photographers and NONE are like this. Also their email was not professional looking at all, had errors and bounced back when I tried to reply. 1200 for photos and videos is almost good enough to risk it - but that's how scams get you, they're too good to say no and too good to be true.
