Need something uplifting

Mrs.a, on August 5, 2020 at 10:11 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 20

I really need some uplifting posts right now as yesterday was bad news, after bad news, after bad news...

I won’t dive into it because it is all personal, but I’m trying to stay positive.

For our wedding and elopement I am hopeful and looking forward to sharing the days with our parents and loved ones. Smiley heart

I am also looking forward to the pretty settings we’ve chosen and how nice it will be for everyone.

Share something you’re really looking forward to for your wedding Smiley smile

Honestly, I am just looking to marry the love of my life and I am definitely counting down the days to it. Our elopement is 2months and 1 day away and our wedding is a little over 7 months away. For the wedding I am definitely looking forward to seeing his face as I walk down the aisle Smiley smile

I'm looking forward to wearing my dress. It's my dream dress and the best part was I didn't even know it until I put it on cause it was something I'd never think of trying on. I also can't wait to marry my best friend. He is everything to me and I couldn't imagine my life without him. I just can't wait to be Mrs fehr.

Congrats! Our elopement is 58 days away, unless we decide to do it even sooner. We just applied for our marriage license yesterday, so it’s getting real!

I am really looking forward to seeing my FH’s face when he sees me in my dress, and to finally getting married after 7 1/2 years. Our families already refer to us as husband and wife, but I’m excited to make it official.
I’m also really looking forward to getting away for a couple days. We are getting married about 2 1/2 hours from home in one of our favorite places. We’ll be there all weekend staying in a huge house with a fun group of people who are excited to celebrate with us.
All the little details are coming together, and I’ve finally got back in the zone completing my diy projects and ignoring the drama. Have to stay positive and focus on the good things we have to look forward to- for both of us. Take care of yourself!

I can't wait to be married to my amazing fiance, wear my beautiful dress and veil. I'm excited to see some family I haven't seen in awhile, and I'm also excited for the planning to just be over already! Smiley xd

65 days and counting - I don't care if we will have to downsize (we don't) - I'm just ready for the best part of 2020 to be here (marrying my best friend and uniting he and his son into my family).

2nd dress fitting went well yesterday, had two minor adjustments to fix and I get to pick it up today and take it home Smiley smile

Also, third day in a row decrease in US "new" covid cases.... Looking good for fall weddings Smiley smile

Lots of good happening all around - If you wake up and get to take a breath of fresh air, it's a good and positive day. Sending you hugs.

Aww just 4 days before my fiance and I elope! We got our marriage license about a week ago (I wanted to get it out the way because courts were closed in our state)

I am looking forward to finally marring my FH after 8 years of being together, this long engagement, stress of MiL issues, etc.

I am also looking forward to celebrating with my family and all my close friends.

Small tidbit of good news - the designer of my wedding gown mailed me a signed sketch of my dress! It was one of the perks of doing the trunk show but it was delayed forever due to covid and I got a notification it was finally mailed out. Hope to see it this week.

I’m looking forward to the ceremony most of all. My dad is still working out so he can walk me down the aisle without a walker. My niece and nephew are performing pre-ceremony music (acoustic guitar and piano). They gave me a virtual sneak peek concert and they are amazing! Fingers crossed everything is a go to have them there for the big day.

I am looking forward to wearing my dress, I felt so beautiful when I picked it out, and I'm excited for my family to see me in it and for my FH see me walking down the aisle in it. He claims he won't cry when he sees me, but I'm looking forward to proving him wrong ;D

I am also looking forward to finally being married to my FH. We have been through a lot, especially in this past year, and I'm looking forward to taking this next step with him. It is like we are proving we can get through anything together, even a pretty terrible year!

I'm so excited to get married to my fiancé this weekend! We finally finished our vows and I love them. I also finished putting together our COVID boxes today and I'm happy with how they turned out.

Also, after not being sure any of these things would happen:

*both of our rings were delivered

    *my fiancé's tux arrived

*my dress stays up on its own (without needing straps)

*our officiant was allowed back into the US, despite COVID

*the weather system formerly know as Hurricane Isaias moved north quickly enough that its aftermath shouldn't interfere with our outdoor wedding, there is currently a <50% chance of rain for the time of our wedding, but I'll be prepared if that changes because I found an adorable umbrella in our wedding colors that's available for curbside pickup at a store near me.

*the increase in covid numbers in my state really do seem to be tied to specific areas, which, while it may not last, makes me feel a lot less nervous about having our wedding in three days

    Things really do get better!

We've had nothing but bad news, too, so I empathize entirely.

I can say that it is abundantly clear that I married the right guy. He can cry with me, but also cheer me up. He nurses me through pain and sickness, and fights for me to get the appropriate care.

Things are terrible. But I've got someone who can help me fight through it.

Our first anniversary is in 3 weeks. This year hasn't gone the way we had hoped... but we're married, and that's all that matters.

I love hearing this! We are going through a lot right now related to and not related to Covid and it’s just getting so heavy. I feel like we are each other’s anchors in a lot of ways.

Hugs!! We had a couple of set backs right before our elopement so I completely sympathize. Very exciting that you have applied for your license. Hopefully it will come soon and you will be one step further along.

So a positive for us is that DH has now moved into an apartment (from the barracks) so I can visit more easily. Also, with so many things going remote with COVID I will be able to stay with him for stretches of time and work remotely which is not something we had anticipated being able to do.
