Need Suggestions: Fire-pit filler ideas???

Angela, on August 26, 2019 at 12:55 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Hi all,

We are 12 DAYS AWAY! Smiley smile So excited and everything is continuing to come together well. However--I need your advice/suggestions. Our outdoor wedding ceremony spot is perfect for our needs...there's just one ugly feature and it's unfortunately smack-dab in the front of where we are going to say our "i-do's". There's a concrete fire pit. We do not want to use it as such, because it's going to be daytime in September in San Diego (very warm day).

What would you put in this pit to pretty up the venue? I thought about filling it with potted flowers, but this is a pain to load in and haul out. Is there a shrub or something we could just plop in there? I'm at a total loss. I suppose I could ask our florist, but I mentioned it once to her and she didn't have any ideas or seem to want to mess with it.

Your creative ideas are SO welcome. I included a photo of the eye-sore for you to visualize what I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance,

Eager Bride-To-Be Smiley heart

A fern would look great in there.

Do you have a loved one you passed you would have wanted at your ceremony? If so, you could lay plank down and decorate it in their memory.

Or you could ask your florist if she could cover it with flowers.

Maybe still get a blank and a use a pretty table cloth or blanket that matches your wedding and decorate it with things that represent you and your FH or other things you see fitting.

What about lots of candles with strewn greenery. I might also suggest just a large wreath or garland to coil in the circle. What a beautiful spot.

Could you use a backdrop to cover the fire pit and also use as your alter?

First, you have to ask the venue what they will allow. Personally, I love the idea of filling it with water and having candles but they might not be able to drain it. You can visit Home Depot, Lowes, Pike Nurseries etc and buy a few potted plants and if you don't wanna haul them away, offer them up to your guests and let them remove them for you aka take them home after the wedding.

Idk how much this would be but maybe take a price of wood or something circular and paint it to match the theme and place it over the pit??
