Need your (mexico destination wedding) experience/advice

Hi there! I’m getting married June 6th at Secrets Playa Mujeres. I would love to hear of people’s experiences/tips/advice who have had a destination wedding as I have never even been to a resort before.


Questions: 1) Does a DJ usually do like the cute games for couples? Announce the garter throw? 2) what should I expect for the reception? My hotel planner hasn’t discussed anything but what is in the contract. I was trying to save money and say we will do money ourselves, but I’m thinking I’m going to need to save for a DJ. 3) If you want to add something like additional photography can that be added on last minute? 4) If you had a spring/summer wedding in Mexico was it sweaty hot as hell? I ask because I have naturally curly hair (hate it) and want it to stay how I want it. (Probably wishful thinking lol) Did your makeup last? I’m a full face girl5) Should I plan stuff to do for my guests? I wanted them to feel like it was their vacation too and honestly do not care about doing everything together, unless they wanted to. I don’t want them to feel obligated to hang out with me and my fiancée the whole time. 6) Rehearsal - I opted out of this trying to save money. Am I crazy? Let me mention- I’m super easy going and honestly if ppl mess up I think I would laugh and enjoy it more lol 7) Any things you wish someone would have told you, or things you wish you had brought with you?
