Nervous about dress shopping..

Soo I’m sure this has been posted a thousand times before me.. I need to start the dress search within the next couple months but I’m super hesitant about it. I had a set of twins 2.5 years ago and just haven’t felt confident about my body ever since then. Work and home life is demanding and I just haven’t devoted time to me and getting back to feeling great about myself again. So I don’t know if I’ll find anything with a sample that even fits, let alone makes me feel good.
I was browsing Instagram and scrolled by a dress that just screamed to me! So I went onto their site and tracked down 2 stores close to me that have a sample size 10 and size 12. I’m sure I’m probably somewhere between a bridal 16 or 18 maybe even a 20 depending on the fit.
How much luck have you ladies had trying on a sample that’s too small for you? Am I even going to be able to envision it correctly? It seems that 10 and 12 is the most popular sample size around here and it makes me hesitant to even go. I feel like I should be so excited and I’m dreading it

A bridal size 10 is more like a street size 6, 12 is more like 8, etc. that being said, most bridal shops can use clips, extender pieces so if the sample is a little small, you can still get an idea of how it would look. I hope you’re able to try it. FYI I was eight months post partum when I first started dress shopping, it was a hard experience for me too. But I did eventually find a dress I loved. You will too!!

Hi gorgeous I am currently pregnant with number 9 with my youngest being 8 months. I went dress shopping and tried on a 16 and it didnt even close however dresses can be taken in up to 2 sizes and out up to 2 sizes . I love my dress it's a morilee and it fits me. I love your dress style they can possibly order it your size but most stores has sizes for plus size women I am a size 20 currently and am okay with myself. after this baby I am planning on going full keto so I can loose the weight. and so I can fit into my dress. but my point is dont' be discouraged to go you are beautiful and most stores has a plus size selection of thier designer dresses

If your bridal consultant knows what she/he is doing, you will be able to at least tell how the dress will look in your correct size. The way they pin the dresses really helps!

By the way, that dress is gorgeous Smiley love ! Good luck dress shopping!!

So many great points! That dress is gorgeous! Don’t let the size intimidate you & your vision. I was at my heaviest back in 2016 & size 18 was beginning to get tight on me. It took almost 1.5 years for me to loose 40 pounds- yes I had my setbacks but kept on trudging along. When I went dress shopping, I fell in love with my dress but was discouraged with the waste line. With the support of my fiancé, I was able to get a tummy tuck & liposuction to get rid of the excess skin. You have over a year to get to where you want! Nervous about dress shopping.. 3
