Never Been Spray Tanned

Natalie, on March 22, 2021 at 10:07 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Hello brides! I’m really interested in getting a spray tan to give me that stunning “glow”. I have never had this done before (I will of course give it a trial run before the wedding) but I’m interested as to if any of you experienced the tan running onto your wedding dress?
We are having a beach ceremony + hours before doing pictures outside. The good thing is our wedding is in December (South Florida) so I don’t expect extreme heat but knowing me, I’ll be so nervous the hours leading to wedding that I might start to sweat lol. I’m also already a Carmel tan color, so I’ll just be looking to get a close color to my complexion to even out my skin and get that JLO glow.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!! ❤️

I’ve had better luck with my tan staying when I’m hand sprayed but a person instead of a tanning booth. Also using extending lotion will help it to stay longer.

I agree with you you definitely definitely want to do a test run. You might need to do two or three test runs ahead of time as they will be mixing your color and they may not get it right the first time. Sometimes it is a matter of trial and error, but if you go to a good salon it’s definitely worth spending the money.
Make sure you exfoliate! Exfoliating is 90% of what will make your spray tan look good and not streaky and not Cakey! All spray tanners are different and even some of the better ones do rub off a little. As far as preventing things like sweat, if you’re talking about under your armpits and your forehead you could look into getting Botox injections LOL.

I also recommend asking your make up artist if you have one about adding highlighting booster to your foundation! It’s going to give you that extra pump of glow! Nars used to make an amazing highlighting booster primer but they discontinued it, but I have found highlighter stick by milk make up and also another one by hourglass.
Finally there are a lot of glow setting sprays. You can hold it 12 inches away from your chest and spray and even mist to give you that even extra punch of glow!
    Good luck!

I agree with this! I've done a tanning booth and had someone manually spray me, the manually spray always turns out better.

Also, based off of your wedding being in December, I would go for a lighter and more natural spray. If you do a manual spray, they should be able to come up with the perfect cocktail that matches your skin tone!

I’ve only done the manual spray tan. I LOVE IT!! I also go in the tanning bed after. I want that glow look too!

100% make sure you get hand sprayed! Also, this is great advice about having a very light tan since your wedding is in December. It is awkward (and super fake looking) when you see those really dark or orange skinned girls in the middle of winter.

Agreed! Spot the girl with a botched booth spray tan LOL. This was my last time getting sprayed in a booth for obvious reasons!

LOL! I’ve been there!! 😂😂 And I feel like no booth spray tan is ever GOOD... yet we keep going and settling until we get that one that’s REALLY BAD. 😆 My last one ending in me at a friend’s wedding with full-on streaks down my ankles and feet. And of course the photographer just HAD to snap pictures of me holding the hands of groom’s 1 year old niece while she danced... close up pics of my streaks galore! 🤦🏼‍♀️ It was so embarrassing.
