Never have I ever... given cash as a wedding gift

I prefer to give a physical gift from the registry, but I gave my first ever cash gift to my friends at their wedding this past fall. I gave a nice physical gift at the bridal shower, so I got my physical gift fix in!

Cash/check is most common where I live. I actually prefer that. That way they can use the funds however they like.

I have given cash as a wedding gift. Because in Malawi, Africa, that is the culture to throw money at the bride and groom. (I grew up in Southern Africa).

I've given both physical gifts and money. It just depends on the couple.

In my area, people usually buy a registry gift for the shower and money is for the wedding. I always give a check though and never straight cash. This way, if the card is lost/stolen, I can cancel the check and give a new one (better safe than sorry!).

Both. I buy smallish stuff off the registry and then cash in the envelope. No one asks for money but who doesn't want it? Secretly everyone.

I have done both! I guess it just really depends on what the couple is asking for. Some asks for money while other want gifts!!

I've never actually been to a wedding where I've had to worry about it xD the 1st wedding I attended was my aunt's and I was 6, the 2nd and 3rd weddings I went to (in the same year) were my cousin's and my 2nd cousin's and my parents took care of the gift as my brother and I were in College and couldn't afford a ham sandwich.
