New Bride to Be

Billie, on October 8, 2020 at 6:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 18
Hey everyone. I'm wanting some more info and opinions. So me and my man are wanting to do Hunter's Camo and Electric blue. I know the dress I would like as well as others I would like to try. I honestly do not know where to start with all this. Our date is set for Sept. 4th, 2021

Anything helps. Thank you.

The first thing you will want to start with is your budget and guest list. Once you have those, you should look for a wedding venue. Your budget and guest count will greatly determine what venues will work for you which is why I recommend doing those first. My mom bought me The Knot wedding planning book when I got engaged. It was very helpful as it had questions to ask each vendor, checklists, etc. I also watched YouTube videos by a wedding planner named Jamie Wolfer. She has a whole YouTube channel with videos she makes dedicated to planning your wedding. I have linked The Knot planning book and YouTube page for Jamie below.

I agree with everything here. Definitely do a Pinterest board as it's a great idea for inspiration. Like there was a lot I didn't think about even down to like type of makeup I want to wear or the hairstyle even the color scheme and type of bouquet that I wanted. Lately I've been saving day of checklist as well as things to have so it's a great place to keep everything in order as well. Like the previous person said once you have your budget set then you have an idea of how big the wedding can be. I would definitely start looking at venues and booking those now because a lot of brides have postponed because of coronavirus but even outside of Corona sometimes very popular been used can get booked up quickly.

I forgot to mention. Glad you covered this. Pinterest will definitely be your best friend. I made boards for literally everything wedding related so if someone wanted ideas I had them. Just one example of this is my sister-in-law wanted to know what I wanted her daughters (our flower girls) to wear for shoes. I was able to send her ideas based on what I gathered on Pinterest.

Hi Billie! The girls are spot on! When you talk to your vendors, it will be extremely helpful to show them photos of your vibe. They will need to know how you envision the wedding in order to help you make it happen. I used TheKnot checklist and the Martha Stewart checklist (printable version). Enjoy the ride 💙🤎💚

I think the Bebe we have in mind is the wedding barn of l'horne here in Byron.

I would inquire and see how much it is and see the dates. One thing I have learned is that October and November are popular wedding months.

I agree especially because a lot of people had to push back their weddings until next year because of Covid so getting the date you have in mind might be difficult.

I'm guessing that means you already have a venue secured.

I also want to add that without a signed contract and deposit paid then you don't really have a venue so I wouldn't book any other vendors until you have officially secured your venue.

Hi Billie! Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to WeddingWire!!

Like the previous posters have said, the first things you should figure out are a potential timeline, location, and guest list size! Here are a few helpful guides to get you started:

And then for attire & decor ideas I'd start exploring Pinterest and Real Weddings online! Thankfully all the first steps of planning are just securing vendors and signing contracts - you have a long time to figure out all your dress choices and decorations!

Thank you. We already decided on a color scheme I think I have already decided on what dress I really like. We do like the wedding Barn at L'Horne. We have so much to choose from and I'm so excited.

I don't care too much for cream colors so white is the way to go. I'm so excited. There so much to choose from. And I'm praying it all will work out. Financial wise and I hope everyone we invite will show up.
