We are currently scheduled to get married on December 12 but are leaning towards postponing the wedding to next year and just having a small backyard ceremony with immediate family this year. My wedding dress was not crazy expensive but its a beautiful satin ballgown. I don't know if I want to wear it twice though. I feel like if I wear it twice it won't be as special when I wear it next year for the big wedding. That and I don't want to wear this ballgown for just a couple of hours and risk it getting dirty or something happening to it. So I'm thinking about getting a more casual dress for the ceremony this year. IDK. For brides who have or are going to postpone are you wearing your wedding dress twice or getting a second dress?

I totally agree with pp ! if i had more than one chance to wear my gown, i would!
but i've been seeing a lot of brides here who when they elope or have their ceremony first, they wear a slimmer or less formal dress. and then save their gowns for the big celebration later

I’m not wearing my wedding dress for my backyard wedding this year because your right I didn’t want it to get dirty but I will wear it twice next year for a party and I’m renewing my vows on my honey moon so I’m gonna wear it again but I really think it’s up to you if your afraid of it getting dirty then you can hold off on it til next year.

I agree. I'm ready to sleep in my gown, I loved it so much! I would love to wear my dress again!
I wore my dress and train for my portrait with my horse. I drug that dress and veil everywhere, and it was fine

I did a different white dress for courthouse wedding and saving the special dress on wedding day. Since I live with husband, I want it to be a surprise for him on that day. It’s really your call. Plenty of brides are planning to wear their gowns 2x, especially this year.
