Originally we weren't going to do anything right after the wedding because money will be a little tight and we won't have time to take off of school and work. But FH mentioned today that he wants to get a second job to put money away for a nice minimoon (he's the sweetest ever--love him).

I've done a few google searches but you ladies and gents never steer me the wrong way so I figured I'd ask!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a minimoon in New England? We are in western MA and are willing to travel up to two hours. Ideally we'd love to rent a cabin, but we're totally open to ideas!

:-)

Hello! I am getting married in August and came to this forum specifically for New England Honeymoon suggestions and was so lucky to find this thread! Thank you to everyone who posted for the original poster! Any suggestions for August?

We're doing Cape Cod with stops in Boston and Salem, but it might be cold for you in October!

FH's family is from upstate NY (the Adirondacks) and there's so many beautiful cabins up there--we usually rent around Caroga Lake or Pine Lake in Fulton County, NY. A nice cabin either on or a short walk to the lake is pretty affordable, plus you can have bonfires and do tons of hiking and visit the local wineries.

I’m in the same boat! I grew up in Litchfield County, CT and I would highly suggest visiting Kent or Washington and the surrounding towns. Stay at Hopkins Vineyard or the Mayflower on Lake Waramaug. Prime leaf peeping season! Smiley smile

We were considering going to Martha’s Vineyard but aren’t sure what it will be like come October.
