I need help!
Originally our wedding was set for 11-22-2020. We sent out invitations to our closest friends and family, because at the time our state allowed gatherings of 50 people, and I didn't want to uninvite people (even though our original count was around 100). We ended up getting legally married in August 2020 (with a very small group of close friends and family) because my now husband lost his health insurance, and couldn't wait until November to get added to mine.
When things didn't work out for November, we postponed to 01-03-2021. We sent out "Change the Date" postcards to everyone that was originally invited right away, so now we have sent out the regular invitations, and change the dates. When things didn't get any better (our state currently doesn't allow any gatherings with people from outside your household), we finally decided to postpone (for a second time) to August 2021. This will be the 1 year anniversary of when we got legally married, and we are assuming by then we can have all the guests we originally intended. We are having a formal wedding ceremony and celebration, basically everything that has been originally planned.
But now I am having a hard time finding appropriate invitations to send to everyone. Not everyone received invitations or change the dates, but everyone is aware of what has been going on.
Part of me wants to send out regular invitations. The invitations I sent for November are digital, and I have contemplated using those, just with a different date.
Part of me wants to find something funny ("Did we say ___? We meant ___") to make light of everything.
Part of me feels silly for putting everyone through these constant changes, and thinks we should just cancel it altogether.
