New Jersey Florist Budget

Kristina, on August 14, 2018 at 10:35 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 15
Hi ladies - October 2019 bride here. We are currently shopping around for our florist and I'm curious to see what the average is for us NJ brides.
I'm looking for bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, alter arrangements, centerpieces and maybe a few accent tables at the reception.
Was really hoping to stay around $3k... but after our first consultation I'm thinking I was naive.
What are you ladies finding?

Hi Kristina! it's always great knowing how much local couples spend on certain items! To find out, you should use our Cost Guide! Just select, florist, and enter your zip code or city/state to see the average amount other couples spent!

Where in the state are you located? That will greatly affect your price as the closer you get to NY the pricier it gets. Also the types of flowers you want and the season

We are in south jersey by Atlantic County, and we used south jersey florists and gifts. For 1 bridal bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 9 boutonnieres, 2 grandmother bouts, 2 mother corsages, an arch piece, flowers in watering cans (provided the cans). Small bud vase, and corsage table arrangements we paid around 2K but we used very basic flowers (hydrangea, roses, greenery and berries) to help keep our price down.

Thanks!! I'm in Central/North Jersey and consulting with local florists. So far we received one quote for 1 brides bouquet, 7 BM bouquet, 8 boutonnieres, 5 corsages, 2 alter arrangements, 4 pew bows, blessed mother gift, 17 table centerpieces (4 tall, rest short), placecard table, sweetheart table and cake flowers. This quote came to $3700 with a possible 10% discount if paid in cash. I definitely would adjust and remove some items (i.e. pew ribbons, cake flowers and switch to all short centerpieces). So I'd hope to bring it down to $3k total; which still just seems like a lot! I'm meeting with another three florists over the next two weeks; let's see how it goes!!

Flowers can vary a lot based on what flowers you pick. If you're on a budget, be forthcoming about it and try to be flexible. Tell them what flowers you prefer but try to be open minded if they tell you that the flowers you like are out of season or just expensive in general. Our flowers are: roses, hydrangeas, babies breath, dusty miller and thistle.

    I'm just under $2K for:

-flowers and fabric for our pergola

-6 bunches of greenery for the aisle

-a centerpiece for the welcome table

-greenery for and petals for the cake and card tables

-flowers for our cake, two flowergirl crowns

    -12 bouts

    -9 corsages (I know that's insane!)

    -7 small BM bouquets

    -my bouquet.

ETA: just wanted to be clear, I didn't forget to list centerpieces, our venue provides them! Our quote was high b/c of our large BP and our million family members who are getting corsages and bouts.

Hey, I'm using Bed of Roses in Yonkers, NY. All my events are within 15 minutes of the border between NY/NJ. Here's what I'm getting for 4350 (note I have three separate events):

    Mayoon/prewedding1:

10 short centerpieces, 10 bunches white flowers (i think they're mums but not sure) for us to make DIY backdrop, 1 bunch yellow flowers for me to make floral jewelry. flowers used for centerpieces: whatever he has we don't care as long as they're yellowish. We will go to pick up these items and set them up ourselves at the venue.

    Mehndhi/prewedding2:

12 short centerpieces, 8 corsages, rose petals. flowers used for centerpieces: whatever he has we don't care as long as they're yellow. We will go to pick up these items and set them up ourselves at the venue.

    Wedding:

25 tall centerpieces with floating candles, 2 stage pieces, 12 bouttonieres, 1 bridal bouquet, 2 floral garland necklaces, rose petals. flowers used for centerpieces: lavender hydrangeas and roses, touches of green mums, purple orchids. Bed of Roses will set up all items at the venue.

    Hope this helps!

Consider doing real flowers for bouquets and silk flowers for the reception tables. I found a premium silk floral rental company in NJ - florealblooms.com. They have beautiful arrangments in different sizes for rent.

I decided to have fresh flower bouquets and rent all my centerpieces from Floreal Blooms for my wedding. I'm going with Dior - their blush and white arrangement. They have beautiful arrangements that look so real in person, as my biggest concern was they'll look cheap from dollarstore or craftstore. I also got a few quotes from local florists and It will literally cost thousands more to do in fresh flowers. So happy I found them!

We’re in Northern Jersey and we’re doing a combination of silk and fresh flowers to keep the price down. We also rented a silk tree for the place card table. The only fresh flowers we have are the centerpieces, boutonnières, bouquets and corsages

Hi @Munchkin9218, which florist did you use? I'm thinking about using a similar array of florals since we have a winter wedding.
