New Jersey Venues that are pocketbook friendly!

Evelynn, on April 1, 2019 at 5:18 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 1 22
Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are looking for venues in central/ North Jersey area. Hopeful date of October 2020! We are having trouble finding a place that is pocket friendly. We are also paying the bulk of it. Most of the places we found so far that we love are $135 a plate! Which we feel is a little too much for our pockets. Also we are having trouble finding a venue that can accommodate our head count of 100-120 on a friday/saturday night.

We need a venue that can also host a ceremony. And basically one that is all inclusive meaning, food service, bar package, tables with linens and cutlery included, as well as desert/ wedding cake. My fiancé is also is very keen on outdoors option, either for a ceremony or cocktail hour

So far the places that we love are Addison Park in Arberdeen NJ. (135/155 per plate friday/ Saturday in October)
and The Farmhouse in Hampton, NJ (165 per plate in October) minimum guest of 125/150 as well :/

I just need more suggestions of where to look because i’m not familiar with NJ venues at all! I feel like there’s cheaper places that meet these points! and a DIY venue is something I cannot handle on my own as I live in currently live in Pa and i’m an RN that works night shift 🙃

I'm right there with you. We're looking for something in the New Brunswick area, and I think I've found venue that comes in at less than $130. Super frustrating.

    Hi,

I would highly suggest Lake Valhalla Club in Northern NJ. They will give you an ALL IN price which is the same for any day of the week. My fiance and I looked at this venue for our wedding and it is VERY reasonable per plate, can accommodate the number of guests you mentioned, and definitely has the rustic feel you would like. We were given a tour by Kristine and she was great. She mentioned things that I would have never have thought to ask! Good luck!

    Hi Evelynn,

You should check out Bishop Farmstead in Southampton, NJ. It's a beautiful barn, pricing includes tables, chairs, linens, etc. and can fit up to 200 people. They have a beautiful outside area for ceremony and a separate area for cocktails. Jeffrey A Miller Catering is the exclusive cater at this venue. They are all about fresh ingredients, farm-to-table food and the packages they offer include the wedding cake. Take a look at the link below. They also have other venues in NJ and PA.

Have you looked at the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel or Double Tree Hotel (Tinton Falls)? Also, there are a few places by the Jersey Shore like Avenue, Mc Loone’s pier house, Ocean Place Resort..

Yes actually the Double Tree Hotel is on out B list along with Radisson Hotel. We are looking at the Olde Mill Inn tomorrow but I’m hoping their promotion for health care professionals is still available, bc it’ll help with overall cost

Agreed! I love the “all in” venues because of the less work for me. But sometimes I feel like there’s so many food options! I’ve been to two weddings this year and I feel like I never ate as much as these venues are offering.

When I met with old mill inn they were super flexible and willing to negotiate or remove things from the package to bring down overall cost. Hopefully that helps.

    Hi Evelyn,

I highly recommend looking at Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ. The venue is all inclusive from the master chef catering company, Jeffery A. Miller, that runs operations. From the table decor, cake, and several on site ceremony and reception locations, they have made it extremely stress-free to plan a wedding that is not only affordable but is well known. I personally know several brides who were married at Waterloo Village and they had not one complaint. They offer discounts for different times of the year, Friday and Sunday wedding discounts and their minimum guest count is only 100 ppl. The rustic theme is perfect for the current wedding trends or you can completely dress it up for a more formal wedding. I will be getting married here this September and Maria and her staff have made everything extremely easy. Did I mention they provide you with a wedding planner?! So much is included in the price that when we went to go visit the venue I immediately picked our date that day, I couldn't walk away from such a beautiful place. Quiet, romantic, natural, and comfortable with an array of different options to make it unique to what you and your fiance would like to see for your special day. Definitely check them out!!

    E,
The Olde Mill Inn has been on m list for quite awhile and we finally saw it this past weekend! And i’m literally in love with it! They literally check off all the boxes! The location is central to all families traveling, food is amazing, 1 event per day, gorgeous photo opportunities, outdoor and indoor area! It was still a little pricey in my parents eye but I want to go look at it again with them and hopefully negotiate the price a little bit.

Definitely go visit places and talk to them in person. Like PP said, a lot of them are flexible and willing to negotiate to get closer to your desided price point.
