New Jersey Wedding Venue advice!

Samantha, on December 26, 2017 at 9:32 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 42

Hi everyone,

I just recently got engaged in November (Yay!) and my fiancé and I have been activally searching all around NJ for wedding venues. I am a teacher so my fiancé and I are looking to get married in August of 2019 preferably on a sunday night. However, we are trying to find that perfect wedding venue. Unfortunately, my mother is very opinionated about our venue shopping because she wants to make sure we get the best of the best for a great price & even better food. (Like everyone else feels!) However, she is paying for the wedding. So we are trying to find a venue that has a great menu and is a beautiful ballroom. So if anyone has any advice please drop a reply!

So far we have seen for 175 guest:

Park Chateau (way out of our price range)

Naninas in the park (they seemed a little too pushy)

The Gramercy at Lakeside Manor

Biagios & The Terrace ( seemed to nickel & dime)

The Tides Estate( Which we loved but we wanted to see more of a menu)

The Palace at Somerset Park

Any one whose been to a wedding in Nj please send advice!

I have been to many events at The Tides, they have all been great! I haven’t been to biagios since they renovated. Have you checked out the valley regency, the brownstone, The bethwood, or the Westmount country club? Just trying to think of places I have recently been for a wedding. Lol. I got married at The Indian Trail Club, and they were absolutely amazing!

What part of Jersey are you looking?

BTW- Celia would have had a ton of recommendations for north Jersey area. Too bad vendors are no longer allowed. People really are missing out on a lot of great info from our vendor community members we used to have.

I have been gone for a couple weeks and came back to these changes. Is Celia not on here anymore?

Wow, that's so upsetting. Celia and Rachel were the two best posters here.

Seconded on this, I really valued their advice. They were an unbiased opinion who just wanted to make sure we had all the information available. It's a major point against the forums not to have them here, and while it may be wishful thinking, I hope the heads at WW reconsider.

With the new changes and the updated forums, vendors are no longer allowed as part of the community.

I had my wedding at the Sterling Ballroom in Tinton Falls. Out right AMAZING. Everyone and I mean everyone enjoyed the food and alcohol. They always have promotions and deals also. The girls in the office were such a delight and I had no regrets at all with this venue.

This is right over the border in NY, but the Views at Mt. Fuji is really beautiful, especially if you're interested in an outdoor ceremony.

We got married at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Toms River, NJ. They have a big ballroom (holds 250, I believe) and a small one that holds 80. Everyone raved about the food. They were very easy to work with and the price was not too bad with everything they threw in for free. I’d definitely recommend them. Another plus is it’s right off of the Garden State Parkway. Call and talk to Kevin!

I'm getting married in the Venetian in Garfield,NJ. They are reasonably priced and you get a lot for your money!! My sister got married at the palace at somerset park. The venue itself is beautiful but overall I was not impressed. Tons of other places that are better. Try the Venetian or their other venues that they own in NJ which are the shadowbrook in shrewsbury and seasons NJ

I'm having my wedding at the Tides Estate next November and have heard nothing but great things! I agree, the menu does look a little bit light but after hearing from others who have been to weddings there and attending an open house there, there is more than enough food selection for everyone!

That being said, I also looked at the Park Savoy and the Rockleigh which were absolutely beautiful! You might find more of what you are looking for with those venues.

Thanks for all your advice unfortunately my mother is very keen on the idea of going back to The Tides on January 20th which I think is way too late.. almost 3 weeks later ugh. My Fiancé & I went to the palace at somerset park and I loved it. But he felt because two other people he knew got married there it wouldn't be the wow factor for our guests... the hunt continues.
