I've started working on photobooks for my mom and mother-in-law but now I'm second-guessing getting them from Shutterfly. I had purchased a calendar for my grandmother through Shutterfly that would have pictures from our wedding and I'm not impressed with the quality of the calendar so I'm concerned I wouldn't be happy with the photobooks. I know I posted on here before about photobooks and a lot of people recommended Shutterfly. I don't want to spend a bunch of time and money on the photobooks from Shutterfly only to be disappointed. Where else can I get good quality photobooks without spending hundreds of dollars.

Have you looked at mixbook.com, they seem great I started building mine but have so many pictures to choose from that its hard and time consuming . They have good deals and if I remember correctly they had pretty good reviews as well. I also ordered a photobook from shutterfly that was not amazing, the photos were cropped really weird and just not good.

I just looked at the calendar again and it has a noticeable scratch on one of the pages so I will definitely have to look into mixbook. Thanks 😊

One thing I will say about Shutterfly, if you call customer service and tell the you have an issue with an item, they will mostly likely replace it for free (and tell you to keep the unsatisfactory one). I wasn't happy about the binding on a $200 book. As soon as I called to let them know, they told me they'd send me a replacement ASAP, and to do whatever I wanted with the one I didn't like. I think their customer service is great....

Printique (used to be called AdoramaPix, changed their name just a few months ago) does very good work. If you google around for reviews of photo album printing you’ll often see they are one of the top rated for quality and for a tool that is intuitive yet very customizable. They are more expensive than Shutterfly, but you get what you pay for. I used Printique for a photo album gift for my husband and was very pleased with the process and the final product.

We had a great experience with the photo books we ordered for our parents after the wedding. We did upgrade to the lay flat pages and I’m glad we did, they turned out very nicely and our families loved them.
