Hi, my name is mollie I am very new to this whole planning thing never even really thought I'd get married, but I was wrong. My partner and I are into the emo to goth style and we'd both love to incorporate that into our wedding. Can someone help with some ideas

    Hi, and welcome!

Where are you? That can help a lot with how we advise you.

Have you checked out the "Ideas" tab, above? Or the "Venues" and "Planning Tools"?
I found the checklist to be very helpful, both here and on the Knot.

Hey, we currently live in a small town in Iowa. I've checked the venues and although they are very pretty some don't have certain qualities that both of us desire.

Have you looked into non-traditional venues for your venue? Maybe a warehouse with cool brick work, or a forest location? If you can’t find a venue that strikes your fancy here on WW, maybe try Peerspace. I also echo using Pinterest and a good old fashioned Google search as they will have a ton of information and ideas.

A very quick Google search for “moody wedding venues in Iowa” brought up the Maytag Center in Newton and Rustix in Humboldt. Not sure those locations in relation to where you are, but may be a start?

Pinterest, google, WW, are heaven sent when planning your wedding! Like Nicole mentioned, try looking for 'out of the box' venues! A warehouse, or something industrial themed would be dark and moody and very cool for the styles you both have!

Def. agree with searching for 'moody wedding inspiration'!! The possibilities are endless!!

When I was booking my venue they let me peek on another wedding setting up and it was on Halloween and was all black! Very cool! They had white pumpkins and witch's brooms for the aisle. Just an idea? i guess the bride had a black dress.

The ladies here are great with figuring out budgets and guest lists. For the aesthetic inspiration take a look at offbeatbride.com and see what speaks to you.
