Our original date was for Sept 2021, now postponed to June 25th 2022. With vaccine rollouts happening slowly and a large guest list, we were worried about not enough people getting the vaccine before our wedding.
(We aren’t to forcing people to get vaccinated, but want to make sure the majority have had the chance to. Most of our guests want/plan to get vaccinated)
We ultimately decided to postpone. Our venue is popular, so 2022 was booking up FAST. With our initial date, I’d checked with my sisters about potential conflicts, but when we chose to postpone, it didn’t even cross my mind. My niece’s high school graduation is the same day as our new date. I feel badly about it, but couldn’t go with September 2022 (didn’t want to push back an entire year, plus fire season. We were already pushing our luck with Sept 2021 in case a fire happens) and most of summer is already booked. I’m not angry or upset that they’ll be going to graduation instead of our wedding. It’s a huge day for my niece, and I wouldn’t want her to miss her own graduation for the world! But I feel awful for not thinking to check first.
