New Wedding dress store resale question

Kenia, on March 29, 2021 at 3:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I wasn’t even sure about how to title this question. I have seen lots of new boutiques that sell all their dresses for a fixed price (example $799 or $899). They vary lots of brands that are Popular like eddy K, Justin Alexander, Christina Wu and more. The dresses are new and do have a tag. I just wonder how they can have these dresses marked down so low. If you got to a regular wedding dress store the dress is well into the 1000s. Just curious not really important wedding questions

If they still have tags on and were never worn, bridal shops they were ordered from do not take returns. So brides have to figure out how to sell them. Thos is common when is indecisive on her 2nd or 5th dress because she either let other people pick the dress for her or kept looking at dresses after purchasing. Once the initial sale goes through, the value decreases, as with anything retail.

Most designers releases dress collections 2X a year. Dress shops are constantly getting in dresses and at some point, older dresses (2-3 years old? Not sure.) will no longer be made by the designer so the sample needs to be sold.

They are likely older styles or dresses that were ordered by a bride and then never picked up/paid for.

Hi Kenia! There are also a lot of designers that are starting to put out bridal collections at a lower price point so they can reach more brides!! For example - Watters has a line called "wtoo" which has gowns in the $1,000-$1,500 range and "by watters" / 'Ready to Ship' wedding dresses from $300-$800, compared to their "Watters" bridal line which normally runs 2k and up!

They could also be brand new gowns from a previous season, so now they've been marked down a little bit!
