Newbie flyer. Does this count as a personal item?

I rarely fly and we're leaving for our honeymoon Monday. Would the bag on the left count as a personal item or is it too big? I'm taking a carry on too. I know the duffel on the right would. Ugh packing light is hard!

I carry a lot of shoes too! But I carry one flip flop, one heel, one walking shoes, one close toes...etc.

Some clubs/restaurants will not let you in with flip flop depending on where you are going.

Yeah no to spray can. You are allow one personal item and one carry-on most flight. But the personal item much fit under the seat and carry on must fit over head compartment. Because of that, each airline differ on the size slightly.

Check on your airline webpage on specific dimension.

WHY do people keep saying no spray cans?

YES you can take spray cans. It's even on the TSA.gov website. Hell, you can take solvents like nail polish and nail polish remover and disposable lighters in your carry on, as long as it fits into the 3-1-1 rule.

The only issue with the can OP is that it's probably over 3.4 oz. otherwise, you'd be fine with it in your carry on.

As long as it can fit underneath the seat in front of you, you're ok. Spray cans over 3oz are not permitted in carryons. Make sure every liquid you have is in a quart sized bag and can zip fully (some times TSA can be stingy). Airlines are more picky with your roller bag. I had a roller bag tinier than what I normally bring (and have been allowed on with) but it was soft and stuffed to the gills and because it was a full flight, I had to gate check. Going through security, don't take out iPads (or similar), but remove laptops (hope you're not bringing one! Smiley smile ), any metal jewelry that might cause the metal detector take off PRIOR to getting into line, wear slip on shoes, make sure your bag is IN the scanner before proceeding to walk through (I saw someone get yelled at prior to this!)

On board, if your airline has free movies or TV, check priest before you go to make sure you download the app in advance, it'll save you a headache trying to use the wifi!

    Bon Voyage!

Just check a bag. If you're new to flying, hauling that much crap through the airport and through the narrow aisle of the plane is a pain. If I'm going on a longer trip and want to bring more with me, it's not worth the $25 or whatever, I just check it. Plus as a PP said, I can bring as much sunscreen as I want, which saves money at the resort. And you can bring your beach towels! haha love it

Have a great trip! Where are you going?

You can take both bags on the on the plane. I've seen worst, that spray tan bottle is a no go bottle to big. Put in your checked bag. Enjoy.

My husband is a pilot. The bag on the left can be a personal item I'm pretty sure but definitely no spray cans. You must have all liquids 3oz or under in a quart size Baggie.

Personal items just need to be able to fit under the seat in front of you. I usually use a backpack which has been stuffed before. Your bag looks fine to me.
